If December program is better you will get that. I just sent paperwork yesterday. Car arrived last week. Waiting until next week to take delivery to better time it with turning the X5 in off lease.

Locking in current program doesn't mean you can't get more favorable terms if they appear. However, if for some horrible reason December terms got worse you would be able to keep the November terms since you already locked in.

It's like the one thing dealerships do that isn't trying to screw the customer. Lol

December is the month that they have the best deals, so it shouldn't get worse than November. We will know more on Tuesday.

Now, does 'locking in a rate' has anything to do with with being required to apply for credit when ordering?

The thing is that I already applied for credit this month but will place my actual order shortly before Christmas for a mid February delivery.

As far as I know, the credit approval is only valid for 60 days and I'm planning on applying again when taking delivery.

So my question is: Are the numbers/deals locked in when you APPLY or when you ORDER? If it's the latter, I could potentially lock in the December rates and compare them to February and pick whatever is better.

Thanks for the info.

If I am not wrong, if I can't pick up in Dec when the car gets to dealer, the 60 day lock should enable me to benefit from the Dec program in January.

We r traveling out of country in Dec :/ not gonna change that only to pick up the car....

It appears as no changes from November. Bummer. Would be really nice to know if any changes within the December Order Guide.

What is the highest discount people got off MSRP before incentives for 2020 X7 M50? I am being offered 7% off in NJ but it feels low.

I just got off the phone with a dealer in Florida. He offered 7.5% off but I think I can do a bit better. 10%? Probably not but I should be able to get about 8%....

Of course, without knowing the lease-numbers for December, this is only half the story...

I assume 10% should be reachable + incentives. I hear the December numbers haven't changed

That is actually not too bad.

BTW, I got a quote from the dealer - this time, it's in writing.

However, something is not right:

They are offering $13,352 off the vehicle (MSRP $123,525) which is probably as good as I can do. I assume they rolled the $1,000 lease cash into that which equals a discount of 10% plus incentive.

What I don't get is this:

With $3,000 down, 36 months and 7.5k miles/year, wheel & tire insurance and taxes/fees totaling $3k, they are quoting me $1,539/month. When I'm using my own calculator based on the November numbers, I come up with $1,405.....

I replied that I'm aware that 0.00128 is the base MF and that I'm willing to pay some mark-up due to the great discount they offered but a mark-up resulting in an additional $130/month would be a bit too steep.

I counter-offered $1,440. If we could agree on that, I'd be a happy camper. That would be just $95/month more than what I'm currently paying on my $88K Audi Q7.

Are you paying anything upfront? I assume no MSDs? Assuming you are paying the bank fee and the first month payment upfront and roll in your sales tax I get to $1,381 a month using your numbers. I get to $1,412 if you roll in about $1K of bank fee and doc fee. The MF would have to be jacked up a lot to get to the numbers they are quoting you.

I'm putting $3K down. No MSDs.

All fees and wheel & tire insurance rolled in.

Tax: $294.46
Tag/Title: $591.50
Pre-delivery service Charge: $799.00
Lease acquisition fee: $925.00 (this was not included in the initial calculation)
Wheel & Tire Insurance: $2,452.00 (this is $1,252 higher than previously calculated)

With 10% off plus the $1,000 incentive, I got to $1,473.00 now by considering the acq. fee and higher cost of wheel & tire so by accepting their quote, I also accepted a slight MF-markup.

The quote I accepted was $1,497.00, so we are talking about a $25/month mark-up (or $900 over the length of the lease).

I can live with that.

Right now, my local dealer is looking at that quote to see if he can match it.

I was quoted 57% residual for 36/12 for M50i by couple of dealers in writing. I thought the residual changed mid November but looks like it's back to 55%. I was told by dealer that my numbers are locked with BMMFS.

Yeah, the M50i residual was at 55% for 36/12 in October, then it went up to 57% last month, now it's back down to 55%.

However, last month, there was no loyalty credit (just a $1,000 lease credit) — but now the loyalty credit has returned. Silver lining, I guess. But I'd rather have the higher residual. C'est la vie.

Well, if the residual indeed dropped by 2% again to where it was a month ago, my deal is actually not bad after all....

My local dealer actually matched the quote from the other dealership but I could tell it was tough to swallow. The Tampa Bay area is certainly not known for handing out the best car-deals in the country...

So is 10% off 2019 models about what we should be aiming for before incentives (talking about 40i)?

I got the $1250 loyalty credit last month. It was mentioned in my previous posts but not published anywhere.

For 2019 models, you should be aiming higher. 10% is easily doable for 2020 models in Northeast.

I am still being quoted a 58% residual on 10K miles. I would be surprised if BMW goes backwards for December. I think they will definitely be rolling out additional support to close out the year strongly so don't pull the trigger until mid to late December if you can wait.
