Assisted Driving View

Just found the video on the above feature (German language). Anyone any idea what software version it would be and whether it would be for the US market or not? Thanks.

This is interesting! Could this be the rumored big update due in August?

Hopefully. I looked for some of the words in the video in the coding options. I couldn't see anything similar.

it's pretty much getting like a Tesla display showing the cars and objects moving around the car..... I wonder if it would reflect it to the HUD as well? I see very rare chances because I think the HUD is not an LCD screen I mean it probably has the fixed pattern of the objects to display in it.

Actually, the HUD is a full color LCD screen. So it can be programmed to display anything.

Does anyone have any updates on the August update rumor? my 2020 X7 is awaiting carrier assignment, and I want to make sure to get all updates prior to delivery.

My dealer said the next software update for iDrive will be available by mid-August. But I'm learning to take such statements with a grain of salt. The shop originally told me a new update was available mid-June so I scheduled an appointment, dropped off our X7, and later that evening was told BMW mis-labeled the update and that it wasn't for the X7. They then said it would be available mid-July so I rescheduled. The morning I was to drop it off I called to verify the update was actually available. They checked and said NO, it was not yet available. But nobody called to cancel that appointment (BAD SERVICE). They told me their online system states an X7 update would be available by mid-August. I'll believe it when they call me to say it's actually available. I guess wasting a customers time is not a high priority.

When an update is actually available I'm having them bring a loaner to me and bring my X7 back (fully washed). No more wasting my time on software updates that BMW could be doing OTA.

As I've stated on this forum before, I'm running iOS 13 public beta 4 on an iPhone XS Max and CarPlay is working perfectly for me so a software update to iDrive is not as important to me as it was before I installed the iOS 13 beta. I understand some are still having CarPlay connection issues so I plan to make and post a video of how well it is working for me.

The July update is already out. It's version 7/2019.39. If you just stop by and asked for the update they would probably tell you there's no update available at this time.

I was at the dealership on August 1 to fix my GPS and ConnectedDrive. Initially they were unaware of the update until they called BMW to reprogram my ConnectedDrive.
