The only inexpensive way is to get a complete used DME set with CAS and keys. Boot mode with MSD80 is still pretty much impossible, so cloning isn't commonly done.

Not sure how you get replacement keys if DME/CAS don't match your VIN.

Another possibility is to have the DME repaired. Obviously, a BMW dealer isn't going to do this. But there are repair services available.

The third and most expensive option, which is what BMW will quote you, is a brand new DME.

Buy a used DME on ebay. Take your DME, CAS and a Working key and send it off to someone that clones them. Check out N5x Enthusiasts on Facebook. There's a guy that does it there, my used DME is coming in the mail today and ill be sending it off soon to get cloned. You just need another BMW and reuse your CAS, its not you CAS that's messed up.

That is MSV70 - which has boot mode / BDM, making it relatively easy. BMW made it very difficult to access boot mode on the tricore CPU used on MSD80. It is only recently possible and the hardware is very expensive (even more than the cost of a new DME).

I am starting to look at EWS deletes on MSV80/MSD80 though, which would mean you could use any used DME. But it will take some time - 2 years on MSV70, hopefully less on MSx80.

As Hassmasschine stated, one of the o2 resistors fried..... And I can't fund a local guy to repair.
They are all stating that with out DME schematics we can't fix a resister which we don't even know how it functions.

@Levanime, can you work with his msv/msd80?

OP, if he doesn't respond, PM him, he can probably work up a solution for you.
