Bimmercode for a new x7 worth it?

2024 x7, just picked her up, been seeing some benefits of bimmercode app but was wondering if anyone had any advice or opinion on bimmercode being something useful for a newer model like mine.

If anyone has In depth knowledge on what benefits I could get from it applying it on a 2024 car. Im under the impression it's more beneficial for little bit older generations

If the X7 would be your only use-case for BimmerCode then I would say no, at least not now.

Currently the only module that can be coded (especially if you have iD8.5) would be the RAM (Audio Amplifier). Due to Secure Coding 2.0 by BMW, everything else is locked out. Eventually they may find ways around it but that could take a while.

There are other companies like BimmerTech who have started offering things for the iX (Anti-Dazzle Light coding and disclaimer removal), not sure if they offer it for the X7 yet but if it can be done on that model it would reason that it could be done on the X7 as well.

No need to ask us. This information is on the Bimmercode website. If you click on SUPPORTED CARS and then select what you have...it reveals that there is support for PRE-LCI G07 X7 models (2019-2022 model years).

Here's a direct link to all the things that can be coded on a pre-LCI X7: https://bimmercode.app/cars/g07/

Here's a screen shot from the website that shows which g07 X7 model years that are supported...and again, if you click the link above, it takes you directly to the list of things that can be coded...if you click on the topic, it opens and shows what's available and which module the coding can be found:

bimmercode cant even connect to the LCI, at least the android version. i havent tried with my ipad.
but yeah, there is almost nothing codeable anyway, bmw has moved almost everything to secure coding 2.0.

I've also read that if you have the Pre-LCI models...you may want to reconsider updating the software. If you do a recent software update...it can wipe out some of your previous coding as well as prevent you from being able to do anymore coding...even with a pre-LCI.

i think for the pre-lci the latest updates take out the ability to code off ASS.but not anything else as far as i have heard.

but on the IX, they moved almost all the modules to secure coding 2.0 over the course of a few updates, so definitely possible they could cut everything off.

but then again any dealer visit could result in an update- my SOS call system malfunction resulted in them updating my car to 11.2023.42
