The same happened to me in 2016. Seizure while driving. Daytime. Totaled my 2016 328i xdrive. Head on into another vehicle. I was traveling to the dealership for its first service at 5K miles. Ironically, the dealership was 300 meters away from the accident. Aside from minor injuries, everyone, including myself were ok. Nasty seatbelt rash and joint pain.

I have since upgraded to a 2015 428i xdrive GC.

Good luck!

Glad OP is fine.
I was not aware of this type of seizure on the road.
It is kind of scary.
I better pay more attention when driving from now on, especially the oncoming traffic.

It happened in the morning. Around 9am. My neurologist said the majority of seizures they never know the exact cause. They can happen to anybody at anytime. I hope it is some crazy once in lifetime event. Like getting bitten by a shark. Haha.

Wow, I had no idea that these could occur without prior episodes. Glad you are okay and no one was in your way when you crashed. I agree with others and not trying to be a dick but if you have this condition you should not be allowed to drive. Your life matters but so does everyone else's. The situation could have been much worse.

I'm glad you're okay. Hopefully your doctor keeps you from driving until you figure out what triggered it. There's no need to endanger yourself or others should it happen again. I'm not sure about your local laws, but in my state of residence they revoke your license until a specialist clears you, usually at least 30-60 days.

Glad you are ok!

To all the assholes telling the OP that he should not be driving given the condition of the accident, he's already said he's not cleared to drive until the doctor clears him after 3 months without another incident. How the hell was he supposed to know that he was going to have a seizure in the first place?!

Glad you are okay and seem to be in good spirits! Sounds like you're doing all the right things. These 3 months will fly by for you and will give you peace of mind when you get back on the road. Try not to dwell on the whys of your seizure, it can get a little maddening.

If you do suffer another, just know it doesn't mean you won't get behind the wheel again. It took 8 years for me to get my epilepsy under control, but I have been driving for nearly 11 years since without an incident. Best of luck!

I am sorry about what happened to your car and very glad you are safe but if the epilepsy is something chronic youve been having

You might wanna consider surrendering your license to prevent innocent people getting killed on the road
You keep wanting to drive seems like a selfish action to me

People are connected by events, sometimes by tragedies. I'm glad no families suffer a grieving loss in the accident. I hope this accident can remind you that you have an open risk to see this happen again when you drive.

Good luck.

Glad to hear you are safe.

Better the car than its driver. Cars can be replaced but people can’t. It great to hear that you are safe.

Happy your ok brother but I think you'll be lucky to just keep your license after causing a crash because of a seizure. Good luck, stay safe!

Does nobody read the other posts besides the OP in threads anymore? He's said now that he won't be cleared to drive for at least 3 months, and now in multiple posts that it was the FIRST time it ever happened..

Thank you!! I was beginning to think I was the only one left who read more than just the OP before spouting off in self-righteousness anymore

From a medical point of view, if you had a seizure once, it is a statistical fact you will have another one. They let you off 3 months, let's assume you get back on the road, and on the 4th month or the 4th year, you have another episode, only this time you head-on someone and they die from the accident, how does anyone justify their action to allow you back on the road!

I suppose the most important thing for OP is that he can walk away from this
