chrome trim removal

Hi, is there a DIY instruction for removing all the chrome trim on the x7, in particular the side door hockey stick pieces? I'm swapping all for gloss black.

Thanks!

Damn man... vinyl wrap that stuff, way cheaper and it'll last easily 10 years if done right...

I hear you, I'm just trying to do it the right way but I'll keep it in mind. I might look into 3m gloss black wrap if I don't swap the actual trim pieces. Thanks.

I hear you. When it's done right with a high quality product like 3M, it's basically factory. But I also understand the allure of all OEM components...

For what it’s worth, I did 3M gloss black over the chrome on my 540 and it was great. And pretty damn cheap.

Have thought about doing the same for the chrome strip on the back of our X7. That’s the only chrome on it, aside from the grill (M Sport).

Here are before and after from my old 540 when I wrapped the window trim (I eventually did the vents too but just ordered those):

Satin wrapped the chrome hockey stick today... matches perfectly now.
