Trailer Hitch question
On x7 M60i, Do i need to add Trailer hitch option to mount a Bike rack. Im not planning to Tow anything.. but will need to move bikes few times a year..Not interested in rooftop bike racks. Not sure if x7 has a default spot for bike racks.

not sure what default spot you are referring to.
if you dont want to use a roof rack, you will need to use a hitch mount. so you would have to select the factory hitch option.

If you are going to move bikes and don't want to use the roof rack, hitch mount is your best option. Cheapest and best option is the factory hitch mount but be aware you lose kick to open for the tailgate.

Stealth Hitch makes an aftermarket solution for BMWs. They have 2 options -- for bike racks, no light package is required, so the mount kit is a bit less expensive. If you decide towing is in your future, you can add the light package to the basic installation. As I recall, prices start around $750. But if you're yet spec'ing your car, the OE hitch package is less expensive, and saves you the install effort. As I recall, the OE hitch package removes the kick open tailgate option.

I chose the trailer hitch for this very reason. No regrets. I've traveled with bikes only once, but I'm definitely glad I chose this option.
