DHP return to 40i?

Was just looking at the configured and noticed that DHP is back! Any one confirm with dealer/SA? If this is true, this is great news for us that have been waiting.

I just browsed through the online configurator and see it too. I think a lot of people are going to be happy :-)

HOW DOES EXECUTIVE DRIVE PRO WORK?
The electronic damper control and active roll stabilization systems work together within the Executive Drive Pro to effortlessly adjust to your surroundings. Sensors between the wheel and body of the vehicle measure its movements, applying the proper suspension needed for the road condition. Along with those sensors, the system uses navigation technology to see what's coming ahead. Its front camera is always recording in front, so it can easily analyze data and make quick adjustments for the right suspension settings, before you need it. The Executive Drive Pro systems work to make sure you are always prepared and your BMW is properly equipped for the road.

What is the BMW Dynamic Handling Package?
If you are looking to upgrade your ride, BMW gives you plenty of ways to do so. With the Dynamic Handling Package, you can have access to features that take performance to the next level. For example, Dynamic Drive allows the system to adjust the roll stabilizers to allow for maximum comfort on smooth, straight roads. This feature also works to minimize body roll when navigating tight corners. VDC adjusts the dampers on each individual wheel and works with Dynamic Drive to reduce body roll even more. It also helps to increase traction and reduce stopping distance.

BMW Adaptive M Suspension

The BMW Adaptive M Suspension system smooths out the bumps in the road while optimizing your level of control. How does it do this? Adaptive M Suspension monitors the road, electronically adjusting your damping rate through subtle shifts within the shock absorbers. Not only will this system adjust to the road conditions as you drive, but it can also adjust to your personal preferences. Choose from drive modes like Comfort and Sport so you can get the precise performance that you want on the track or in the city.

BMW Adaptive Drive

What about BMW Adaptive Drive? Another feature of the BMW Dynamic Handling Package, the BMW Adaptive Drive system pairs together Dynamic Drive and Variable Damper Control (VDC) for added control on the roads. While Adaptive M Suspension concentrates on the shock absorbers and suspension, this system focuses on the roll stabilizers. The result is a smoother road feel through both straightaways and corners, no matter your speed. Plus, the VDC system offers benefits like:
  • Minimizing body roll
  • Increasing road grip
  • Reducing stopping distances

To sum up,

EDP = MagicBodyControl of Mercedes
DHP = PDCC of Porsche

Right?

+ what about SportPlus mode with EDP?

I think I do not fully understand yet

To my understanding its 4wheel steering. Had a 40i loaner without DHP compare to my m60i, makes a world of difference for its size.

No way I would ever buy a full or mid size BMW SUV without DHP. I am coming to BMW for a very specific driving dynamic above their competitors. This is what gives BMW that drivers dna. If all I was looking for is a people hauler, there are plenty of posh people haulers for less money with blah handling and ride qualities for a lot less money.

Its more than that..
DHP is
IAS: integral active steering, at low speeds the front and rear wheels angle in opposite directions, reducing turning circle. The turning circle for my x7 is smaller than that of ny old x3. At higher speeds both front and rear turn in the same direction to increase stability

ARS: Active Roll stabilization, basically active roll bars that let the car corner and turn flatter by counteracting the normarl characeristic for the inside wheels to lift while the outer wheels tuck.

Iirc it also adds aome other ride related features, but the main ones are IAS and ARS

Refuse it. It happens all the time at dealerships. They will sell it and you can get what you want.

Mine was built 3 weeks ago and just got to the dealership yesterday, will be picking it up in a couple of days. I would have added the DHP option if it was available at the time, but I am not going to sweat over it, otherwise, you will never be happy, there is always something new if we keep waiting! I would say just enjoy it.

DHP is nowhere close to PDCC. I have both and they are quite different. PDCC is like magic though whereas the RAS is the part of the X7 that helps out so much.
