I got to see this at BMW north Scottsdale today.

I saw this essentially back to back to back against a urus, bentayaga, dbx 707, culinan, and rsq8...

It did not look better in person. Interior is disappointing.

Best part about the car is they did a great job of integrating the iDrive 8 dash, it looked very good how they just carved out a chunk and put a screen there.

Not sure where to go from my X5MC... don't want the LCI because I don't want a S68. Maybe a urus performante? But then I'll be a urus fuckboy

Cayenne turbo GT is kinda eh in looks and the RSQ8 is the same.

The bentayagas are actually really nice but they depreciate like rocks.

Gaudy and not worth the asking price. And they already started to saturate the dealers with this hideous monstrosity so it's not rare or unique to demand the high price.
They will use this overpriced novelty to creep up the other BMWs prices and try to justify the new higher prices in comparison.
I would never buy one.

These are mostly demo units which are supposed to be for test drives but many dealers are selling them. Actual customer pre-orders haven’t dropped yet.

I still wonder why the M department didn’t either simply elevate the iX platform to true M standards or design a new platform (with any drivetrain) to compete directly with the G wagon or Land Rover Defender.

Warwick RI had 2 today - a black and a white. Black was much better but still a little odd looking, and I was one of the people wanting to like it.

The white had black trim everywhere, not sure I have ever hated a BMW that much. The black however, darker color makes a huge difference.

Back seats are gorgeous, but the front interior - I would have never thought this was a special edition, just really underwhelming.

Dealer said they have 2 more coming, customer orders, that are not going to be claimed.

By the way, fully charged you only get 30 miles if only on electric? I dont get it - and I know the v8 twin is the standard on most larger Ms - but again, feels pedestrian for such a special model.

Any new owners that have already picked their XM up… would love to hear feedback from you on here … after having it for a day or more what are the thoughts? Regret, excitement or meh?

I have my appointment tomorrow to test my ordered xm and will need to decide once and for all if I’m keeping her or moving on…

I am reading on these threads that it seems many buyers have opted not to keep it…

I am feeling the pressure 🤣

Rode back seat 10 min this morning in mine during PDI. I’m still on the fence. I hear less than 200 units that are gonna be available in Canada according to the bmw rep. The price is hard to justify.

But I think I’ll go for it if the production numbers are low and because at the moment there’s nothing exciting nor available to buy that fills my need

Here's a Cape York Green Metallic one. Zero options. $159K.

Like many, not a fan of the exterior whatsoever. On the inside, quite a bit of room in the rear. Dislike ID8 with a passion. The iPad in front of the driver is particularly bad.

And why has no one mentioned these 13" center caps on the wheels? Looks like a hub cab in itself.

We all thought it, trust me… haha. Porsche has amazing center locking wheels on GT cars. This approach by bmw is total garbage. BMW is more a marketing company now, trying to convince people what they need or want instead of matching historical engineering passion imo.

Take it if you like it. Just plan to take a $70k loss including taxes after a few years, maybe less but given the reception of this thing probably not far off…
