X7 M50i vs G63 AMG roll races

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Just came across this clip and thought some of us might find it interesting. Certainly didn't expect the X7 to beat the G wagon.

Hope this hasn't been posted before.

Great results, I was also surprised that it was faster than the G63.....Although my wife has the 40i, I'm overall very impressed by the G07 platform.

I am not impressed at all with the new G-Wagon’s interior. It’s been updated from horrific to now luxury SUV average. Certainly nothing special at all.

Pity that they did not drag from stand-still.

X7 is a great addition to the line up. G wagons are so overpriced and are a dime a dozen!

As you know X7 M50i is a beast. After driving one, I was pleasantly surprised at how hard it pulls. One of my favorite BMW’s by far. Alpina B7 must be a Saturn V rocket.

Great video - thanks for posting!

Anybody aware of any plans for anX7M?

And who would have thought that the BMW would sound SO much better than the AMG? That surprised the heck out of me.

G wagon had bling factor, X7 will dethrone it.

I've had mine for just over 7 months and I still smile every time I drive it. When the kids aren't in the car ... zoom zoom.

I love BMW and sensible money would go to the faster, nicer interior and more modern X7. But I'd still go for a G wagon if I had the money.

Shocking result and +1. G-Wagen does win on holding value better than any vehicle on the planet ex limited edition Ferraris

Great video, but can't say I'd ever drive either of those vehicles that way.

But G wagens tend to hold value better than most high end SUVs, and a lot of cars in general for that matter. Can be pricey to maintain though...

I don't understand which car enthusiast actually buys the Gelandewagen... I realize that it's the number 1 choice of Russian call girls in Dubai but other than that the continued success of this car confounds me.

The same reason Range Rovers and other luxury cars sell, its all about the looks. If you've got the money, you can flaunt it, just look at how many rap videos have G-Wagons or other luxury cars, it screams "I made it." Even in LA where they're on every corner they stand out, the majority are likely not sold to enthusiasts.

You're far off on the demographic for Dubai - it's an incredibly popular car with the Emiratis. The Sheikh of Dubai (and some family too), owns a G-Wagon. Emiratis being very patriotic, follow the lead and buy them with much enthusiasm - keep in mind it's far from a cheap car. The going price here is around USD 210K so it also says quite a bit about the appetite and ability to spend that kind of money fairly easily.

I gotta give it to G wagon. A box shaped suv did well in upper speeds. I thought it was going to be a slaughter.

I don't know about being a dime a dozen. The new model sells for more used than the msrp of the car
