Adaptive Headlight Error in Yellow on display

Hi,

I had my 325i for about one month now and love it!

I have a coding kit I am in the process of getting to work on my computer.

In the meantime, I have an amber light that indicates "adaptive headlight error" and If I hold the button in on the turn signal switch, it will show, "CC ID 295".

I'm not looking for instant fix here but can someone offer me an idea of what I will be getting into? I plan to learn as much as possible about this car and keep it going for many years.

Thanks,

Kurt

Check here for CCID codes:

http://www.endtuning.com/ccidcodes.html

295 is Adaptive Cornering Lights Failure

Which, I know, is fairly general

Could be your AHL Module is bad on one side...

Unless you have recently replaced one - if this is the case, coding is needed to set the new AHL Module to your car - need to add your VIN in the new module using tool32 and winkfp, then recode adaptive modules and calibrate them with INPA.

If one of your modules is bad, and needs to be replaced - the above will also have to be done. If you are not familiar with/comfortable using tool32/winkfp, then you should have someone who is, do the coding portion, as you can mess up some major crap if done improperly

You should check the errors using INPA or DIS first.
Then we will see. Does you cornering lights work properly?

Check the errors using INPA and dump your screen here. I will try to help you.

thanks very much for the help, this is a good start.

I hope to have software working on my laptop this week and I can look at more details.

I am not sure if the cornering lights work or not, car is still new to me and I don't know exactly what I am looking for. Night driving is good, however.

Can re-coding be done with DIS or other common package?

Thanks again, I will get back to you for more help.

I prefer NCS Exper for coding, I don't use anything else.

DIS is great diagnostic tool for cars like yours and is in English version. You can also do some programming using DIS, but WINKFP is better/faster IMO.

Thanks for your comments and offers for help. I am working away from home this week so I cannot gather any other information until this weekend or next week. I'll be in touch.
