Can the 2024 X7 Kneel on Entry/Exit?
Is there a setting that you can configure within the vehicle that allows it to automatically lower to the lowest possible suspension setting when you place the vehice into park? There seemed to be an issue with this pre LCI. I am coming from an '23 Escalade where this is just a standard feature. I am hoping my expecations for IDrive customization are not skewed.

No. BMW doesn’t do this yet the Domestics have done this for almost 10 years now. You will get on a habit of activating the lowering rocker as you come to a stop when parking.

Not available. Been discussed plenty of times and at this price point and class in BMWs lineup should be a standard feature.
You can however put the X7 in the next to lowest height setting while in comfort and it will stay there upon restart. |

Mine lowers to lowest regardless of drive mode and stays there until I restart and drive over a lower speed amount (like 15mph ) it raises up and returns to the appropriate height of what ever drive mode was selected.

Anyone knows what’s the use for the highest level? Lowest level can be used for loading/entry/exit. What’s the use for the opposite end? It doesn’t seem to stay there for driving.

It will automatically lower back to normal level if you exceed a certain speed. Iirc it's 18mph for the highest level and 30mph for the mid-high level. The use is for anytime you need extra ground clearance. Also raises the trunk up to a more comfortable height if someone is going to be putting in or grabbing a few light items from the trunk.

Seems like it would be simple enough for BMW to have an optional vehicle lowering option when below a certain speed or stopped. One of their many faux Pas. The reason I suggest it to be optional is that you might want to disable it in rough terrain.

Certainly it would be. They have an auto window down via gps position feature?? Or an auto backup from parking feature? But can’t implement an auto lowering when parked feature everyone else has? Absolutely moronic

I normally drive my X7 in Comfort mode and the highest height setting (to each his own, please don't make fun of me!). I have gotten used to toggling to the middle height when approaching my garage or a parking spot. And then toggling to the lowest height after pressing the park button. It does take two physical steps instead of being programmed to happen automatically. But my brain has been programmed at this point to automatically make the height adjustments.

It can’t unfortunately. You will get accustomed to moving into sport, if not already, just before pulling up to park so it’s only one level down to load level.
This was info shared by Auricom on the levels and what they are for since someone asked about the higher levels: |

Range Rover School
Can we all chip in to send BMW engineers to Range Rover school? Just kidding.
Cadillac: Depending on your vehicle, you can select the following available ride heights: a. Entry/Exit Height: Lowers your vehicle to make it easier to get in and out of. Last edited by rjabend; 09-10-2023 at 09:45 AM.. |

I think he meant that you can set your ride height to the setting right under the mid suspension setting in comfort and it will stay there the entire time while parking, driving, etc. until you change drive modes. For normal driving that is the suspension height I use most of the time in comfort mode.

That doc is 02 - powertrain/chassis here: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1563063 The height range is +40 to -40 mm, the steps are +-20mm. Automatic lowering happens in a few cases: - Above 87mph it automatically goes to a special -10mm position (you can't select this ride height from the switch in the car) - In sport mode or above 124mph it automatically goes to the -20mm position And if the automatic lowering was triggered by speed, it'll automatically raise back up to the normal 0mm position when you slow down again. |

BMW engineers are good at some things not good at others.... BMW pain point is engineers not including value add software features just because of low uptake or becuase they believe there isnt a general need state for them.
this is exactly the type of feature where BMW looks at and rather than just offering it for those who want it, they say something like: "80% of potential customers surveyed with auto lowering enabled complain they open their doors before lowering complete and stop the feature, therefore we don't need to offer it." |
