I am shopping XMs. Most come with the BW upgraded audio, but the one I like most doesn't have it. So I am left choosing between color and the sound system.

How much of an upgrade is it? Would you change your color to have it?

Unless all you listen to is talk radio, you will want the Bowers and Wilkins Soundsystem. I think you will regret not having it later, especially on a $160,000+ vehicle. I don’t know why it doesn’t come with it by default at this price point. It should be the only option. It’s incredibly powerful and sounds amazing.

I wouldn’t think of getting it without the B&W. Had in my XB7 and now my XM and I’d never go back to HK which we had in our previous X7. Go with a different color. You’ll spend more time sitting in the car than looking at it and the B&W is a must.

Also don’t forget the XM has the B&W “Diamond” system which is not offered on all BMWs with the B&W option. This is the highest-end you can get from the factory.

Same here.
First BMW with B&W, most likely won’t go back to HK.
I can enjoy my music without bothering my wife with louder volume level as in HK.
The extra tweeter above your head helps with clarity at lower volume.
