Dealer quoted me $325 for this service!! Bought the filter myself for $47 and followed this 4 minute video to change it no tools required only for X7's with rear air conditioning option I think cold weather package included this option

oh wow.... I never considered changing this one, completely forgot about it. I wonder if the dealer has been replacing it for me as part of my first 3-years free service!...
I know they replaced the front one, but am not sure if that naturally includes the rear one too.... Where did you get the filter from and what is the part number? |

Many thanks for identifying this filter and its location. I seldom/never use the rear A/C, but it's nice to know that it's there.
Looks like the filter removed is labeled "Mahle LAK995" -- could be an even less expensive alternative to the BMW p/n. I suspect the dealer's invoice for this filter change would have been itemized as: 1. Rear cabin filter - $50 2. Knowing where the rear cabin filter is located - $275 |
