My trainer recommended pretty much the same things you listed in your diet, except with the allowance of a few other things. I try my best.

To be honest though, my performance is unsatisfacory in my eyes. I've been working out forever, so I've got the muscle. I just lack the tone. In fact, the before pictures that you posted are somewhat similar. A touch chubbier, but more or less the same thing. I've been dying to lose the extra layer.
if motivation is what you need, theres nothing better than a little friendly "competition"...its what i always turn to when i feel like im losing my motivation...its basically 2 or more people within the same height/weight range setting a time period in which they can see a number of things...the competition can be anything from who lifts the most at the end, who has added/lost the most weight at the end, or who looks the best at the end...i usually go with the last one

The key is to eat lots of meals throughout the day....instead of having that traditional "breakfast, lunch, dinner" schedule. I try to shoot for 8 meals a day but when I say meal it doesn't mean a full plate of food. A meal can be a protein drink or even 10 almonds.

90% of what you look like is contributed to food, not lack of exercise. "you are what you eat"

eggs.
egg whites.
oatmeal, real shit. NOT f'n quaker.
yogurt, low sugar, low fat or just plain eww.
fruits.
veggies - mixed frozen are great and easy, any and everything else is good too.
chicken.
tuna.
lean red meat.
turkey.
whole wheat wraps.
whole wheat toast.
natural peanut butter.
unsalted mixed nuts.
almonds are super clean.
rice and if you have time brown is a little higher in protein.
wild rice.
cottage cheese,
ricotta cheese.
whole wheat pasta with tomato based sauce.
selection of reasonably healthy pre-made microwaveable meals (for when you are a little lazy)
salmon.
cod.
shrimp but go easy due to cholesterol.
whole wheat cheerios.
bacon
u need sleep too

Motivation:

Take pics of yourself on the monthly basis to see the progress. Also bring a notebook with you and log all the weight you are moving around. You'll be amazed how much you go up once you flip back 2-3 months and look what you were lifting previously.

You have no idea how bad I wish I had someone to do that with. Unfortunately I'm in a small private school and don't have a comparable buddy, let alone any other kid for that matter, who is somewhat comparable. Most of the kids in my grade don't work out. It pretty much goes...you're either fat, skinny, or somewhat lean. There's no one person that looks sorta ripped, no really big guys, and no really fat guys. It's pretty funny.

real oatmeal is the stuff that has nothing added and is just pure, you can buy it in supermarkets.

this is the oatmeal to stay away from since it has sugar and flavoring added:

how many pounds of muscle can u gain before it affects your hand speed, (ie you can't swing your arms as fast because you are too big)

no idea...lol

i think my speed has increased but my stamina decreased...i would die if i had to run a mile or something equivalent.

let me tell you one thing...by doing squats and deadlifts you get tons and tons of power in the hips. you know what i mean?
