dp code without tune

hello, i have the jb4 and was thinking about getting a set of dp's. i understand that the jb4 has the auto code clearing so the dp code wont appear. however, if i go in for a dealer visit and turn the jb4 off or take it out, wont the dp code appear while the car is at the dealer?

Yes it will appear at the dealership so if you are having any coding done you should remove the dps and jb4 otherwise they will void your warranty if you have one still

Edit: You can buy the BMS DP fix that will make it so the codes dont show up and readiness will pass but i believe it is not recommended to leave the fix on the car.

thank you very much that was literally my next question. people have said if you have the dpfix to pass inspection you should not just leave that in the car. why is that?

I'm not sure. Haven't had to do it yet myself so haven't looked into it. I think it's to allow the ecu to see exactly what is going on.

alright so it has something to do with the AFR. but there does not seem to be any straight answer on whether it actually has an effect on the AFR or not

There is some calibration of the front O2 sensors based on what the rear O2 sensors see.

Long term use of the DPFix causes long term fuel adaptations to go wonky. This can result in you running overly rich/lean, and you will run into issues.
