F30 328i M-Sport in Canada
Out of curiosity, does anyone have an F30 328i M-Sport in Canada? If you have one, was it worth the challenge of importing it? I'm thinking of doing it this summer.

Indeed, we always seem to get the shaft. I'm just wondering if any Canucks have imported from the US and if they thought it was worth it in the end.

You would have to get one slightly used in that case as I understand U.S. BMW dealers are not allowed to sell new cars to Canadians.

Yup. Just email a dealer. They will say the same.

I had a quote from a fairly large dealer that had the M Sport Package on the 328i. They had to ask BMW Canada and apparently they got the authorization. I didn't act on it because I elected to wait for the F31.

Was there a special charge for the M Sport Package? I'm assuming it was a dealer in QC?

My salesman at Laval told me the same thing, but I have yet to see myself live or in picture a Canadian 328Msport...

My question all along. Why would BMW offer the .sport on 335 and f31 touring 328i yet not on 328 or 320 f30's like in USA. I mean is it that hard that if someone wants to add those parts and color you just ask your SA to build? Let's hope the 428i will have .sport pack for Canada.

I am surprised BMW was willing to allow a 328 m-sport to be special ordered in Canada. In comparison, I asked to get the special m-sport cloth / alcantara seats on my 335 m-sport rather than leather like they have in other countries outside of North America and BMW Canada refused. Clearly their behaviour seems pretty fickle as to what they will or will not allow!

Interesting - If this is true, it is typical North American arrogance that we think we are superior to the Europeans and need separate certification programs.

I don't think you can call it arrogance or a question of superiority. It is about governments not allowing another country completely outside of their control to set their laws re. transportation safety. You would not want a situation in which EU legislation required that all cars be limited to 90 km/h and have 24 airbags, and then automatically Canada had to follow these requirements without any participation in the creation of the laws.
