Navigation and Cas update recall
Hey guys, I took in my 2013 X3 Jan or Fed production in yesterday for the squeaky panoramic sunroof and some problem with the top view camera that was showing a brownish picture and for a maintenance.
On the next day, my SA called me about a Navigation update which they would install it in for free and a key fob update on which probably improve the reception I guess? Not sure but I will update once I get my car in an hour or so. Tbh, I'm a little worried because I coded a DVD in motion as well open\closing of windows and trunk on the fob, I hope it won't get coded away . So if you guys are going to take in your X3 in for service, it might be a good idea to mention that there is a recall to update your navi and key thingy. I asked Stephanie at Park Ave BMW, She said this applies to 3,5 series and X3 Here are the SIB: Recall cas SIB 61 38 12 Cas software error Programmed complete vehicle including cas. Cleared fault memory. Initiated electromagnetic steering system. Recall Nav update SIB 65 22 12 Nav map data incorrect Nav map updated through USB port. So far on the navigation, they updated it from 2012 to 2013a1 I'm seeing a clear map with incorporated details, such as parks and stuff. I will add more as soon as I use the navigation more.

Thanks for the heads up. I have an appointment next week so I'll ask my SA about this recall.

I'm also scheduled (week of Mar 25) for a s/w fix to correct iDrive service readings - My SA told me it was a recent service bulletin. I'll inquire if these SIB's apply too.

Same here, my car is saying that it's 41,000 miles over due for service and the car only has 21,000 miles
I also have the famous idle fluctuation when I start the car and the CA locking delay.

Update done

I've updated this post to show the S/W Revisions: First is the original S/W 001.020.022. Second is the update Installed Mar. 26, 2013. But for some reason (probably a Forum limitation) the second updated S/W rev isn't uploading. So, I'll do a workaround and link to a copy in the cloud. HERE it is: http://db.tt/lMq3yApA
