Has anyone of you guys with the Dinan springs (or any lowering springs) have to deal with ride height sensor recalibration? Local shop brought it up to me as part of a quote and I didn't know anything about it to argue it. I told them I'll take their price into consideration and get back to them.

If I remember correctly, they're on the instructions off the official product page on Dinan's site.

Speaking of alignment, just had my car in for service and gave them the Dinan specs. They tried but said they couldn't because had Dinan suspension and non oem wheels
Guess I go back to Carbahn to get it done. Last edited by m340ninja; 04-28-2022 at 07:33 PM.. Reason: . |

Anyone do the Dinan springs, without Dinan bump-stops? How's the ride?

I didn't know about the bump stops until after my shop installed the springs, oops! The ride is slightly stiffer than OEM and handling did improve. I guess I'm not sure what I'm missing out on, since I do not have anything to compare it too.

I was in the same boat as you. You'd be missing some extra travel as you'd bottom out earlier on the stock bump stops vs Dinan's. It'll most likely result in the springs feeling like they're more aggressive than they really are.

I am looking into these myself, and have read as many threads as I can find on them, but still have a question for those of you on these Dinan springs.
I am new here, coming from a Q50. On the Q, it was always recommended to replace a lot of the stock suspension parts when you lowering, even a small amount (control arms, tie rod ends, end links, etc.) In reading through these threads, I am not seeing much, if any, conversation around this aspect. Is it just that there is enough adjustability in the stock suspension components that this is not necessary with the less aggressive Dinan drop? |

Installing front camber plates is recommended for the track or if want to optizime grip. But for most, totally unnecessary. I believe the only front camber plate option is from Vorshlag, as mentioned above.

I think most people do not, unless in a very specific situation ie. I was traveling on the highway at about 68-70mph with a slight downhill gradient with a sharp angle at the bottom to return to a flat grade. That’s been the only time I have ever bottomed out.
PS. I run dinan springs without dinan bump stops.

Looks really good, but more importantly, the Dinan's ride well. I made the mistake of going H&R and they look nice, but lack comfort and if I am not going across smooth paved roads, the handling can become jittery.
