Any sound clips? And what kind of resonators did you go with? Looks like a pretty clean job, not a fan of just having straight pipes back there

If you like it go for it. I personally think they look aggressive. As long as your not putting X3M badges or competition badges. But Im from Ny where people put AMG badges on C300's, quad tips on Civics, M mirrors on Accords so Ive seen them all. To each their own.

That diffuser is a temporary artificial CF one I got on ebay - I’m still waiting on a real CF one to ship out.

The artificial CF one has perfect fitment though and installs in literally 10-15 minutes.

As for the resonators, I don't recall which brand/type - they were the only ones in stock at the place I went - G Exhaust for those of you in the South Florida area.

Here's a short clip for you: https://youtube.com/shorts/19CH9g1GKYk

However, the exhaust burbles sound the best during high RPM down-shifts lol. I just ordered my first GoPro (with suction cup mount for cars), so I'll try to get some additional clips of actual driving time with shifts and acceleration.

Lmao that’s crazy. I’m in NY too, only crazy stuff I’ve seen were people putting “Type R” badges on their base Civics or quad exhausts on Altimas 😂 but M mirrors on Accords? 😂😂

Late to the thread party, but... I think they look great, but I'm a BMW purist of sorts and think that M things don't belong on non-M cars. This comes from me owning a current M8 and X3 M40. I love the looks of the stuff, but I think the M40 has too many M parts. BMW has blurred the line between M and non-M a little to much lately starting all the way back to the old M Sport line. But hey, if you like it, have at it. It's your car.

I see you are in Florida. Any chance to be in SF and what exhaust did the work? It looks nice. I am debating of going similar route. Did they keep the active exhaust flaps on that setup?

You’re welcome to see it anytime - No, the flaps have been disabled.

Yeah, for quad-exhaust tips on our cars - this kind of setup is definitely the most economical route.

There is still a factory resonator at the mid-way point in the car, plus the two small ones I had installed. I didn’t want it to be too loud for my snooty community lol.

However, it’s definitely not as loud as I thought it might be having done a full muffler delete - so I’m considering having the factory resonator deleted too.

The new m40’s are a good example of this… I believe they now come with an m logo on the front fender and grille? Not to mention m style side mirrors, and at least 20 other m logos on the car.

Yes, exactly. It's kind of a good/bad thing for me. I love the look of them, but I don't think my X3 'deserves' them all since it's not a real M. Granted the only people who have a clue about these things are smart BMW people. Even the average BMW buyer doesn't have a clue about M specific things. So to the rest of the world its just a cool looking car, which goes back to - do whatever makes you happy with your car.

Thank you I have been looking for a good shop.

I am thinking of doing the following:

MBRP tips part #T5182 and T5183
Two Totalflow mufflers 22319 to replace the stock muffler.

All in before labor around 300 bucks. Not bad.

This I am debating:
Moving the OEM flap from the stock exhaust to the custom one. It will cost more but keep the OEM functionality.

I went full cat back with Stone Exhaust. Zero regrets. Had a slight issue getting the valves open but succeeded yesterday after taking a day off. Sounds amazing tbh. I’ll get a clip up soon

I got the new GoPro, so I figured I'd post a short video of some drive time, so you guys can get an idea of what the muffler delete sounds like. Keep in mind, I do still have two small resonators in place of the muffler.

I decided to get some new tips, to set off a nicer contrast with my diffuser - My other tips were CF against a CF diffuser and I just wanted to give this idea a try…
