I think the M2 sounds better (at least what we hear in videos) than the M3/4. However, the M3/4 doesn't sound bad OTHER than on cold start where it sounds horrible. Once warmed up it isn't bad... there are better sounding cars but it isn't bad.

People who own other cars have to find something to bash the M3/4... jealousy

As soon as mine comes in it's off to GTHaus for a Meisterschaft exhaust. I like it loud too but also want the ability to switch the valve over to a quieter mode when I'm entering/leaving my neighborhood.

You can also toggle the valves of the M2 ///M Performance Exhaust. Its exhaust valves do not automatically open or close at a certain RPM. They are driver-controlled using an included Bluetooth remote (which will likely come in packaging which should fit in the cupholder to act conveniently as a remote holder).

Sounds pretty fun! I liked the sound of the E92 335 and this reminds me of cold starts from the N54 in my garage. Smaller and lighter package here though. Still don't fancy the looks yet but I'm sure they'll grow on me soon enough.
