Exhaust valve flap is keep open valve of the Exhaust, it's like the 1st 15 seconds of cold start but keep it loud all the time. Otherwise, the valve will closed after 15 or 20 seconds or you have to active by turn on sports mode.

Bimmercode to Programm, bimmerlink to open flap.

With respect to bimmercode but their M instrumental cluster isn't accurate. Did it and it show lower amount of gas in the tank, missing driving mode display, engine light on when active. Reversed to default.

That is because your X7 does not have the same equipment installed as the M cars do in order for that cluster to work properly. I coded the M cluster as well, changing the necessary parameters using Expert Mode (before it was added to Normal mode), and had the same results. This will be the same result for any non-M car and is an unfortunate limitation of the available coding knowledge for this item, at least for now.

If you search for a pic of the cluster in an M-car, you will see what I mean. However, there are a few additional coding parameters that can be coded to help the M cluster look more functional in a non-M car, like adding a red line to the RPM gauge side.

I actually coded the M Performance cluster now, which gives me a lot of the look of the M cluster that I like, but still retains the other functionality in the cluster that the non M cars use/display.

That's not a bimmer code issue. You will have the same result with any coding tool and trying to run that M cluster setting.

I understand. But then how do I explain the engine light issue. I successfully code to M instrumental display and the engine lights on. Plus it shows way less gas in the tank. Reversed to Default and all that gone. Did that a few times…same thing.

Can you tell me in pm and/or take screenshot which parameters exactly you're referring please?

I'd consider looking at everything else coding can do for you too. Specifically, Auto Stop/Start, default driving mode, and anti-dazzle are very popular and very functional.

When I originally coded the M dash I changed the following parameters in the DKOMBI4 (instrument cluster) module using Expert Mode:

3000 GLOBAL_LAYOUT_VARIANTE -> m_gmbh
3001 LOGO_SCHRIFTZUG. -> m_logo

To add the RPM yellow/red line:

3001 DZM_VARIANTE. -> m_gmbt_S63t4

The red line is not correct for the B58 engine in the 40i, but I didn't plan on bouncing off the rev limiter in my X7 and the engine ECU controls the true redline of the engine anyway.

Is yours 40 or 50? And why in a world 50 would put M display if they already have it. Or maybe I got it wrong…

I have a 40i, my X7 came from the factory with the standard digital cluster for the 40i (or any of the new G-series BMWs with the B58 engine). The picture I attached is the result after I coded the M-dash digital cluster in my X7 using the parameters above.

I understand, but where's the selected Drive Mode(i.e. COMFORT, ADAPTIVE, SPOT, ECO)which by default should appear right next to your current letter "D"? And also, I bet your fuel tank measurement isn't correct, as I observed this small but annoying difference based on numerous tries(install/restore), but who knows maybe I'm wrong.

The M-dash does not have the drive mode in the bottom right because that is not where that info is displayed on an M car. That is what I was saying in my post above about how non-M cars don’t have the same equipment installed as the M-cars, which is why the M-dash does not work properly in the non-M cars. That is why I changed my dash to the M-performance dash, so I don’t lose the functionality that you mentioned and I still get the look that I wanted. As far as the fuel gauge difference, I never noticed that, but then I was not looking for it either.

I’m 99% sure you don’t need to do any coding at all for remote start. You just need to go to the climate control settings and turn on “pre-ventilation” or whatever.

Not to hijack the thread, but is there an easy way to code the car in BimmerCode to lower the suspension to the lowest setting every time I put it in park?

No, not possible. Many of us keep asking for exactly this.
