//1M engine code is N54T ???
The new //1M engine code is N54T.
That is what I have found, when I just did a search tonight over at www.realoem.com What is also VERY interesting is that //1M production started in Sept/2010, thru Dec/2010. Nothing for Jan production, but then started again for Feb & March/2011. Hummm.... Someone mentioned a few days ago that the 1M uses a different oil filter. That is not true according to RealOEM.com Same oil filter as any N54/N55/N52 motor: BMW oil filter part number: 11427566327 $12.25 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref.do?part=11427566327 Dackel |

Well the September thru Decemeber would have been when the pre-drive was... prototypes and the pre-production cars that went to Daytona and are going around shows and to the magazine companies for reviews with the halogen headlamps. Actual customer production would have begun in Feb once the correct headlamps were in. |

I just saw when you go to look up a replacement engine... the 1M engine code is really N54B30A I think that is what BMW had been calling all along. But in the RealOEM's opening page it is listed at N54T

The e89 Z4 35is - also shows it's engine code as N54T at RealOEM's website. When you go to look up the (Z4 35is) engine replacement it ALSO shows the same (1M) engine code N54B30A Maybe BMW is using two different codes even though it is the same engine? The same 1M engine (part number 11002155829 or 11002155828) is also used in these BMW models: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref.do?part=11002155829 E82: Details on E82 E82 135i Coupe E82 M Coupé Coupe E88: Details on E88 E88 135i Convertible E90: Details on E90 E90 335i Sedan E90N: Details on E90N E90N 335i Sedan E92: Details on E92 E92 335i Coupe E92N: Details on E92N E92N 335is Coupe E93: Details on E93 E93 335i Convertible E93N: Details on E93N E93N 335is Convertible Dackel |

Dr. Segler was clear cut on this:" “is” badged cars are not M cars. M cars are race cars. The car is M pure. It’s not about just power and hp. This car is about road holding because of M3 suspension components. You do not need more power in this car. M button on steering wheel offers a more aggressive throttle response by changing engine mapping of N54B30TO engine."
