[CODING] BimmerCode Beta Testing

I wanted to provide an update on some new options that I am testing with a beta version of BimmerCode.

Please do not ask for access to the beta as I cannot give it.

Here are some of the new options in HU_MGU. Again these are still being tested.

Awesome man! Thanks for testing the beta for us. I assume they incorporated your EYSY cheat sheet?

I am assuming, but didn't ask. He just reached out asking if I wanted to beta.

By the way, what is HU_MGU? Are there any other components there other than this HU_MGU?

HU_MGU is the ECU that controls your iDrive screen. There are many different ECUs that control different aspects of your car.

Let's crack them one at a time.

Nice! I hope Jokinawa does it fast to Production level. Can't wait as I have the OBD MX+ and I am ready...

As part of your beta testing, is he allowing you more access to all of the ECUs in the car in Expert Mode? I seem to remember that when BimmerCode first started to provide some coding options for the X7, very few ECUs were accessible, even in Expert Mode. Even if all of your cheats have not been incorporated yet, it would be nice to be able to see inside the different ECUs....

He didn't point it out. I don't remember which ones had expert and which ones did not. I can test some if you have an idea of what to check.

No specifics, my question was more general to see how much access BimmerCode provides to the ECUs in the car - even access to ECUs with no BimmerCode shortcuts created yet. Since you also know how to code with E-Sys, you can see all of the ECUs available on the car, then compare to how many ECUs are available in BimmerCode. My experience with BimmerCode has been it restricts access to some ECUs, where E-Sys lets you see all of the ECUs.

For the technical guys, I found this:

There are extra codec options that can be coded. So far since coding them, I havent had a video that wont play.

HU_CIC / HU_NBT 3000 HMI ENT_CODEC_OGG aktiv / Werte=01 nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 Enable playback of video files using OGG codec
HU_CIC / HU_NBT 3000 HMI ENT_CODEC_XVID aktiv / Werte=01 nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 Enable playback of video files using XVID codec
HU_CIC / HU_NBT 3000 HMI ENT_CODEC_XVCD aktiv / Werte=01 nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 Enable playback of video files using XVCD codec
HU_CIC / HU_NBT 3000 HMI ENT_MC_VIDEO_SUPPORT aktiv / Werte=01 nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 Allows videos to be stored to the internal hard drive

BimmerCode is not working as intended:

OK. I tried to connect OBDLink MX+ using the BimmerCode Full Version App and I do not see the options mentioned above by Jokinawa. What is wrong?

It says ECU Not supported on many of the options that I want to change the settings for.

Please see the below screenshots and help me!

FYI, I have the X7 40i. I am using the iOS version of BimmerCode App. The iDrive is version 03/2019.39 on it.

The beta has not been released as far as I know. That ECU isn't available in earlier versions is my guess.

The BimmerCode Version I downloaded is version 3.1. And when I go in the support cars/bmw/X7 G07, it lists all the supported features in the list. Please see the attached.

Is Version 3.1 still an old version? If so, why is showing the supported features that you are testing, strange?!

He may already had. Apple is extremely slow on approval, sometimes.

I haven't had a chance to provide my feedback yet as I had family plans. Not sure if he has submitted to the App Store.
