No individual paint for the X7

The color palette is terrible, in my opinion. Nothing exciting... the standard individual colors are not that great. Ametrin? Yes, I want to drive around in a giant eggplant.

Wanted to order a true individual color but am now being told the SC plant cannot handle individual (outside of the 2 "standard" individual colors) and is declining all requests right now.

Very disappointing.

Bmw corporate recently said they need to take cost of out the business and said reducing the number of colors will help to lower costs. The savings will be used to increase r&d spending for autonomous and electrification.

Interesting.

And sad. Particularly for a 7-level BMW. If BMW were to do Individual paints, it should be on their premium-grade vehicles like this.

I agree it's disappointing. Two shades of white. Four shades of black. Two shades of blue. And the "Individuals" are a split-pea-soup green, and Barney purple. We can do better, starting with a silver.

(that being said, it's still going to be Mineral White for me)

Interesting, though, that BMW keeps increasing the number of vehicle models. That's a far greater cost than colors.

They are killing off slower selling models...
