Was having an issue where i could not select wifi. Bluetooth and Internet connection were checked but no matter what i tried, i could not select wifi. Took it by the bmw dealer and he said i needed to switch to Tmobile. After 8 hours we finally talked to one of technician who had us push in and hold the volume button until the screen went off and back on three times. about 90-100 seconds. Worked great. He said this is how you reboot the system. Just putting it out here in case anyone else has the same issue, as something to try.

Also, BMW only went to TMobile for newest cars 2022 and up. Was not my issue as it is a 2019 X7

Yes, holding the volume button for 30 seconds will reboot iDrive and have seen remediate lot of s/w related issues
