From my older car (not BMW) I remember EVAP ready required car sitting parked for a while with fuel tank full at a minimum level and air temperature not being above or below some degree. So it may take longer, may even take an overnight parking on a level ground.

just posting the rest for thread completion and too help anyone needing to pass emission.
flashed back to stock... (cat sensor disabled by tune)..... jb 4 do 1/4 then turn off jb4... do ur drive cycle. summary idle for like 3-4 start... drive 25-29 mph on cruise do not go higher 3k rpm..... do that for like 5 min. drive 55mph on cruise do not go higher 3k rpm.... do that for like 25-30 min.... check odbii while driving to see ready status... had 1/2 tank gas, drove a drive cycle.... used cruise control. did it really early in the am soo traffic wouldn't mess up the drive cycle. everything went ready except.... evap... but i am allowed to have one not ready. passed inspection!! wohoo.. |

1996-2000 Model year cars can have up to 2 not ready or "Incomplete "
2001+ model year cars can only have one Readiness not conplete.. And obviously no Check Engine Lights/Codes and you're set! |

On My Nissan I could never quite figure this out, despite having a detailed set of instructions from Nissan...sometimes I was good in 70 miles, sometimes 500 miles later still nothing....I never could understand how a shop is able to do it, and you look at your odometer and they only drove 2 miles...(meaning they cleaned the EGR and reset the MIL or something)

seriously? If say CAT is not ready, and EGR not ready, implying someone just reset the MIL or SES, you can still pass as long as the light is off? If my car is a 1998?

And yes if only those two say incomplete in the readiness test section of the scan tool and when you select read codes and no fault codes are present it will pass. Now idk if that is NYS only or all states. |

Car needs to usually sit overnight, or coolant temperature below 100*F, usually twice. Fuel tank needs to be between 1/4-3/4 fuel both times.
