"NO SIGNAL" on Nav screen
Hey,
Yesterday was the second time in a couple months where I got the "NO SIGNAL" display on the nav screen. The first time it occurred it would not go away for a good 20 minutes, then the nav kept rebooting itself over and over while I was driving. Finally the next morning I come out to my X7 and all was working. Weird. Last night I came out to the X7 and right away it said that until I started the vehicle. It rebooted once after about 10 min and has worked fine ever since. Anyone else had this? Just kind of annoying. |

A fellow M8 owner had what appears to have been a memory fault issue that caused multiple reboots: https://f92.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1&postcount=24
Didn't mention the "no signal" message, but if it was coming on between reboots that could make sense. Seems it was solved by reloading the software at the dealer. He's active on the forms and hasn't complained of it since. Hardware is a possibility as well, if it wasn't for the reboots I would think it's a cable that isn't seated properly, CIC module, etc., but it could be more of a memory or processing issue.

Took it in and they put all new software on the vehicle...still did it on the way home. Then they took it back to the dealership and "hooked it up to BMW" for a couple days...They said they had to order a new head unit from Germany. I wonder how long that's going to freaking take?
