What service am I looking at - 13k miles.

Bought my car a little less than 1 year ago from a dealer who said they did the 9k service. It was bought with a little over 8k. I now have just over 13k and the car says it's ready for service.

What type of service am I looking at here at the dealership?

Look at the vehicle status in idrive it should say what is due. If the dealership just did a service at 9k miles (presumably an oil change) then it shouldn't need an oil change again at only 13k miles. Could be brake fluid depending on the in service date of the car.

Oil change is due at 1 yr or 10K miles, whichever comes first. In your case, it's the former.

Admittedly, I am surprised you are only driving the car 5K a year. I work from home and will likely be ~12K after my first year; the car is too much fun not to drive.

Hmm...good thing I have some other things for them to do other than an oil change, like seat emblems and perhaps a software update.

I don't drive the car a ton because it's a weekend car...plus eliminate about half the year for winter. Plus I don't drive it in rain if I can help it. Yes, I'm that guy.

I'm also "that guy" right now. I've only driven 4,300 miles in 8 months. I love driving my M3 but in my case, my current daily drive is 10 minutes to the bus pickup location. So I don't see the point of driving my M3 and parking there all day where all sorts of things can happen to it (bird poop, dents from other cars, break-in, etc...)

After checking in idrive, it's brake fluid. Oil change isn't due for several thousand miles. Seems kinda silly to take it in only for brake fluid

Why is that silly It is an important maintenance item just as oil, spark plugs, etc are. If another maintenance item is due +/- a few thousand miles sometimes they can pull it ahead so you avoid another trip to the dealership.
