I was prompted to download 07/2020.80 moments ago. Has anyone applied 07/2020.80 yet?

I have on my G05, no issues and big updates include Apple CarPlay turn-by-turn guidance and driving info in HUD and instrument cluster, Android Auto, additional voice controls like "Open Blinds", "Change Driving mode".

Downloaded update to app, then direct connected to X5's iDrive via BMW wi-fi and Bluetooth and drove for 30min to transfer (it was at stuck 7% transfer for a bit then progressed), then drive home when transfer was complete, parked in the drive way and sat in the X5 while it updated - enjoyed the minimal light show and sounds while it was upgrading. Took about 15min to finish, shut down once completed. Then started up the X5 and allowed the installed apps for refresh, recheck settings and had to redo my remote start climate settings.

Otherwise trouble-free update and all systems working well.

When was your X7 built and what version were you on before the update?

2020 4.0 MSport, built in September 2019.

I will check my version tomorrow. I remotely upgraded once already.

After getting no updates since I have bought the car in March 2019 - BMW finally found me! Downloaded this version. Waiting to install to ensure nothing bad happens...

Same here, just got a notice this morning that I could update to 07/2020.80 (first update since purchased car in August). However I was on the way to the dealer and mentioned it so I may as well let them deal with it in case something goes wrong.

I'm still waiting for an update to come. Mine was built April 2020 (some how it was built while factory was shut down), and still has 03/2020.35 that came with it from the factor.
Lots of little weird electrical issues that I'm hoping would get fixed with new software. BMW Genius said I would get OTA in Mid November. It's now Mid December and I still haven't received it yet. Checking daily.

I received a notification about this update today and downloaded it to my iPhone through the BMW Connect app however when I go to the X7 the update will not begin. It says I do not have a Wi-Fi connection but I do through CarPlay. What am I missing?

I did an over the air update in August and it went smooth.

Mine was built July 2020 and came with 03/2020.69 and this is the first OTA update offered to me.

Mine is currently downloading to my Android phone. I already parked the vehicle in the center of my driveway just to be safe. I'll keep you guys updated how it works out.

Let us know what your build date is, what version you're upgrading from and to, how long it took and if you ran into any issues.

I just checked mine again, still shows no updates available.

Update: The app now shows connected to both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and indicates that it is loading the update to iDrive but it never moves off of 0% complete. I left my iPhone connected for over an hour and nothing. Anyone else having this issue?

Did you try resetting both iDrive and phone?

Stopped by my dealer lot today and did self update. The upgrade was smooth and success after 15 minutes. Thought I was the lucky one but five minutes later when I stopped at a traffic light, the anti theft alarm with emergency light on. The car was still drivable so moved to a parking lot to reboot. I didn't leave the car or open the door throughout the software upgrade and unsure if this related to the issue. Wish i would not take a towbed home tonight:

Updated mine with no issues and android auto now works! It took a while to download to my phone, then several trips to upload from phone to car. Once uploaded it was about 15 minutes to apply update. Then I had to hold down the volume button and reset iDrive one time to get android auto and some app to show up. Maybe they would have eventually shown up on own, not sure.

I went from 03/2020.58 to 07/2020.80

Very disappointed....I finally received a notification about this update today 7/22.80. I downloaded it to my Samsung through the BMW Connect app however when I go to the update to iDrive it stays at 0%. I have Wi-Fi and bluetooth connection. Car parked. The app shows uploading but iDrive stays at 0%. I rebooted both iDrive and PDA tried a few times no success. The drive way is not completely leveled but not that bad may that is the issue... see pictures of PDA and iDrive Any suggestions? I must say I am scheduled for oil change at the dealer this Friday I had planned for software update there as well.

Has anyone experienced where the software transfer only occurs when the car is running and/or driving? That's been my experience at least. I had to drive around the block for 10 min until it finished and then parked at home and let it start installing.

I downloaded it to my Android phone and connected the phone to our X7 via bluetooth and wifi, but the BMW app only shows "connect to vehicle" instead of "uploading software"......

When I upgraded in the past to 11.2019.70, I'm pretty sure the download took place while parked in my driveway.

I experience the same with an over the air update a few months ago. I was able to transfer the update from my iPhone to the X7 while it was parked in the garage. This update however, is not transferring to the X7 from my iPhone while the car is parked in the garage so it may in fact require that the car will be moving for the transfer to occur. I haven't tested it yet because we have a large snowstorm heading toward Pennsylvania today.
