Hey, has anyone successfully installed an aftermarket amp in a pre-lci x7 with hifi and 3rd row climate? I spoke with bimmer tech and they said they do not have a bracket for my 22 X7 with the 3rd row climate.

I'd like to DIY so would love to hear from anyone who's done this successfully. The stock hifi is so, so bad, eager to do something about it… Thanks!

The hifi speakers are paper thin and super tiny magnets and really sound like crap. Have you thought about replacing the speakers and subs to start off with? It will be a huge improvement from what you have now. Only thing is your volume has to be cranked up to about 60 percent minimum before you notice anything. Yes an amp would be best, but new speakers and subs will go a long way.

I just added the Bimmer tech speakers and amp to my 22 X7. The speakers are much improved and the amp really made a difference. You can see the difference when you pull the hifi speakers.
They provide instructions for the speakers and amp. There are step by step videos for the speaker install on the forum but none for the amp that I saw.
The amp fitted in the back fender area behind the rear heater vent tube. It fit quite snuggly and the harnesses held it in well. No brackets used but you could use tape or zip ties if you wanted.
