2023 X7 Key Ring

Odd question, but has anyone managed to actually find loop rings that fit onto these new keys? dealer didn't have anything in stock and I've gone through a few misses on amazon

I bought fob covers like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Key-Replaceme...19269826&psc=1

Similar covers are available if your fob has a different shape.

the 2023 has a completely different shape, all the buttons are on the side now aside from the roundel. i ended up getting the OEM case.
https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...se-82295a2c220

and no, i couldnt find a normal ring that would fit through, it would need to be a very small 1/4" ring to go through the loop, and that attaching to a keyring.

I had been struggling as well. I was thinking something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/bayite-BYT-WK...10&sr=8-6&th=1

How does this OEM case feel. I saw online a M Version but I do not think that is available yet.

That's exactly what I bought and guess what, the ends don't fit through the key ring.

I tried squeezing the crimped end but ended up breaking.

Probably will use tape to identify his/hers key.

I did not think of that. Perhaps a thread loop may work. Someone suggested using a small cable tie, through the tiny hole to attach it to a proper key-ring. I do not think it will look nice.

This is the case I like but not sure if this site is legit.

If you have an iPhone use that. I have been going keyless since I got the car and it's been working great!

The key fob opening is ridiculously small and over engineered!!

I used a hog ring to attach a normal key ring.

I used something similar. I think it is a miss by BMW considering I got the X7 key chain from my wife as a present.

12mm split ring

A 12mm split steel ring fits nicely, then use the small ring to connect to your normal keyring. You can get a bag of dozens of them from Hobby Lobby for $2, or from Amazon.

Get a pair of pliers. Go to your local Starbucks. Use the pliers to remove a ring from the nose of the barista. Wash it really well and place it in your key. Easy.

My FOBs came with these rings in them from the dealer. Not sure of the size but it's not the smallest. Not the biggest either.

Use a braided lanyard for a pocket knife. It’ll give you something to hold onto and won’t ding up your key fob.

Not sure what they were thinking about the key design. Looks cool, but not very functional. We're moving to more digital/keypad locks in our houses, so we don't have a need for additional keys on a key ring, but it's always nice to attached something to the key or it's easily lost.

I'll probably use the digital card or iphone unlock for the car, but wife is always worried something will not work properly and we'll get stuck. I thought I saw a previous owner store an extra key on the exterior of the vehicle in a box that blocked the signal. Might be something to look into.

the card is nfc, so pretty unlikely it will malfunction. same tech as the failsafe on the keys.

i wouldn't hide the key, if someone finds it and takes the car, one of the first questions insurance asks is if you can account for all your keys.

Success, found a tiny loop from a swiss army knife that fits, though that was still tough to get on it
