It's tough to order tires?

I need replacement tires for my x7 runflat. I try to get it from Tirerack, SamClub, BMW Dealerships, But they are back-ordered. Where else you order the tires?
Front: 275/40/22 (run-flat)

There is a global rubber shortage that may be affecting the availability of tires.

I just checked tirerack, they have a pirelli and a continental run flat in OEM 22" size available in stock for immediate shipment. Not sure what zip code you are in, but maybe your local warehouse is out. But there is tires available.

If you want to go with 295/35/22 in the back, your options open up. It's been confirmed for fit. Could prob do AS tires to increase lifetime

I ended up with a used tire from Ebay that matched really well for $210. I had to do something with the huge nail embedded and overall back order on anything 315/35 22 related

I feel your pain! Try getting a set for a Alpina XB7 with the 23 inch rims. The rear tire only fits the XB7 & the Lamborghini urus.

Sorry if this has been raised before but I just went for an oil change and was told I need new rears as mine have worn out. I have 18K miles and probably drove 6K of those on my winters. Do you guys think it’s normal to have to replace at 12-14K? This is my fourth BMW and I’ve never replaced tires during the lease. Previous car was X6M with 21 wheels. X7 has 22’s and is heavier but I am still surprised. Would love to hear about your experience.

Different tires, but our X3M got a nasty flat from road shrapnel. I replaced both rears. We have 14k miles, car will be 1 year old (from our purchase) this month. Had winters on November through March. I believe he said we were at 5/32nds which I think is more than half eroded. I kept the good one just in case I need it.

Middle of the tread looks like slicks. I was surprised at the wear in under 15k miles.

Not sure if that helps you gauge your situation. P Zero summers, 20 inch.

Seems about right. This was the main reason I ordered the 21's on my x7 as I didn't want to replace tires every year. Also, the 22's are really expensive due to sparse availability (now there are more options, but still not as much as the square 21 setup).

Summer performance tires on a big heavy vehicle with a lot of power tends to not last very long. If you read reviews online for similar types of tires, you'll see most of them get 10k-15k miles out of a set.

Even all season tires (such as those that are available with 21" setup from BMW) only tend to last about 25k to 30k miles. I haven't had a set of tires last more than 30k since my E46 back in the late 90's.
Even on my wife's relatively light weight and lower power X3, she only gets about 25k to 30k out of a set of all season run flat tires and she drives like a 80 year old grandma.

My X7 with the 21" bridgestone non-run flat tires has about 8k miles on them. 6k of which were highway miles. based on their wear rate, I think I'll be lucky to get about 25k maybe 30k miles if I keep driving more highway miles.

Any vehicle that is awd with a lot of torque chews up tires.

Thank you for all the responses. My experience with my last two X6Ms, one with the 20s and one with the 21s summer performance tires was that both sets of tires held up well into high 20K miles and that's with a fairly aggressive style of driving 50% city. So I am surprised that the 22s are getting a lot less use but I guess X7 is heavier and 22s are larger.

So shot in the dark i ordered two "used" tires off of e-bay to fit my X7. I noted previously the tire had increased from $221 to $440 each.

Found my size, and the merchant said it was a "patched" tire got two for $214 shipped. Tread is 10/32 (i measured) and they do each have a patch right in the middle of the tire. Please don't @ me about patching a RFT, i've patched each of my fronts from a nail and a screw over 7k miles ago.

Honestly wasn't expecting much, and it was in reality an experiment to see if i could get two useable tires for the price of less than one shipped. Pretty fahkin happy with the results, but obviously results may vary. This is just an FYI for everyone, use it, don't use it, but at least it's a potential resource if tires do indeed become scarce and highly priced.

I have the same tires on my 2020 X7 40i and have 35K on them with 5mm of tread left.

Rural roads mainly but I do drive back and forth from Seattle several times per month which is about a 150 miles round trip.

You're getting really good wear.

I'm actually happy if I can get 25k. Looking at folks here and on the MB GLS forum, many are only getting 10k miles (even on all seasons) or slightly more than 10k.

I'm at 9k now and the wear still looks like I should get 25k to maybe 30k miles out of a set.

I replaced mine yesterday. They still had about 4.5MM of tread left. I wasn't going to risk trying to get 40K on the original tires during the winter months. If it were during the spring or summer I'm pretty sure I could have gotten close to 40K out of these tires.

It will be interesting to see how many miles I get on the new tires. I bought the exact same tires that the X7 came with.
