Below is my 2020 X7 Production Build Sheet which everyone who placed an order for a new car should receive. There are 3 digit description codes for each option and package. You should be looking for "Maneuver Assistant" in one of your packages or options.

If the BMW Genius (what Genius came up with that title) is telling you that your new build will come with the Maneuver Assistant option ask him to give you the code description number so you can look for that option/package on your build sheet.

All of this is pure speculation if this discussion is about upcoming and not yet released new models. The Genius and BMW can tell you anything they want but no one will really know until one of these hits the showroom floor or a customer takes delivery of one with these claimed new options.
The agent at the Genius department didn't say that it is called Maneuver Assistant. He simply described what the Parking Assistant Pro can do. However, according to posts on this thread...the description he gave me fits the Maneuver Assistant functions. I never heard of Maneuver Assistant until I read this thread.

The ordering guide for the 2023 X7 lists the Parking Assistance package code ZPK for $900. It includes Parking Assistant Pro code 5DW. I expect it to be on the configurator.

Found this (10/21) article that mentions the iX will get Maneuver Assist as part of an upcoming OTA. The article goes into further details about operating maneuvers via smartphone from outside the car, which is saw PR for on the 7 release, but nowhere else. Take a read: https://www.techvair.com/2021/10/man...x-will-in.html

You know the youtube video my dealer sent me shows that from outside the car you can operate the maneuvers via a smartphone app...in addition it says it will remember up to 200 meters of traveled path...just like the Maneuver Assistant...

I'm curious if it keeps the vehicle locked while it's doing this maneuvering with the phone app. Will it work if a window is rolled down? If so, can someone on the street jump in, take control and drive off with the car while your controlling it with the phone app?

I would certainly hope all the controls inside the car would be locked out while using the phone app for maneuvering. Maybe someone can check this out once they have one of these in hand or available for a test drive.

Looks like this was re branded to “memory parking” I spotted it in the owners manual (page 262). So yes, the feature exists (and can be controlled via smartphone). But the big caveat is if it’s enabled in the US currently or if it ever will be…

Thanks...the Genius agent I talked to was correct after all! (I believe it is enabled as the agent in the US was describing how useful it is).

I wonder if we can record multiple paths? To be clear...for example I recorded the parking maneuver to park in my garage. So when I get to the starting point in my driveway ...I activate the stored maneuver...the car would park itself exactly as it was recorded. When pulling out of my garage...would it reverse the maneuver to backup out of the garage?

Manual says up to 10 different routes can be saved.

I remember reading posts (X7 or X5 forum) that automatic parking assistance would need a vehicle on each side of the parking space in order to select the space. They also said that it doesn't recognize the marked white lines of a parking space.

However, according to the 2023 manual...the auto parking system would recognize the white lines of a parking space. Could that be a change in the 2023 model?! I'm a bit confused...do we still need a vehicle on each side of the parking space?

Well...I read this on the X5 forum...it turns out it's a different Parking Assistant package. The one on the X7 is way better!
