'Individual Composition" coming to X7 Dec 2019
BMW has announced that "Individual Composition is coming to the X5, X6, and X7 in Dec 2019.
https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/globa...19?language=en Sifting through that news article, there's things in there that we already knew were available for the X7, so only some of it is new news. Might be difficult to interpret what it really means. Are they referring to the "Individual" colors and trims that we already have available for order, such as Ametrin exterior, or the Ash Grain Silver interior trim? I think it's more likely referring to the ability to truly order custom Individual options not in the configurator, which was previously reported as not possible for the X7. (or other Spartanburg-produced models) We'll see. I'm intrigued by the supposed new M seats. We'll see if they truly end up being new or not. I'll be placing an order, probably for Jan 2020 delivery, and would have the capability of taking advantage of new Dec 2019 options. Stay tuned! |

I prefer the non-sport seats but would like some wheel choices with black accents for the M50i.

Interesting. I wonder how they feel though. If they'd really be a good fit for the X7 as a luxury SUV, and not a sports car. Starting with the monster engine on the M50i, are we steadily trying to piecemeal together an X7M?

Higher resolution renders of the M Multifunction seating. ///M tri-color trim detail is nice touch:

If they get the full functionality as the comfort seats (heated/ventilated/massage) and you can still get the rear seat entertainment on them, I'm very interested...
Especially if they get an illuminated M-logo... |

Wow, thanks, Auricom ! Great find, where did you get those?
They do look like X7 interiors. So what's that funky trim? Looks like the Tetragon trim available on the X5. Might be good for those of us that like aluminum trims. I like the M-piping. New leather color! And what's the cutout insert in the headrest? When I zoom in on the pic, it does in fact look like a //M logo, possibly illuminated like 760Lifan is positing! Again, I do have to wonder what they actually feel like. For me, the function has to outweigh the form. And yes, I too would still need the ventilated and massage functions in them too, which it appears they might be set up to do, seeing that mattress stitching pattern still in the middle on them. |

Reading into that press release as it's updated, it does look like the M seats will indeed have massage and ventilation available.

The images I have are 2550 x 1010 and when scaled down for the forum, it makes it look unusual. Cutout is the ///M logo plaque. You can try how the seat comfort feels by visiting your dealer and sitting in a ///M5 as the M Multifunction seating is the same exact design but with different leather stitching.

Ahhhhhhhhh. Very cool. I just landed at DFW airport. I'll go to BMW of Grapevine tomorrow, take a look at that X5 with the black wood with aluminum cross inserts, and see if they have an M5 on the lot at the same time. Big thanks for the input fellas!

So are we 100% that these seats won't be available for U.S. this December? Is December a common month for options to change on BMWs? As in will there possibly be different interior color options or will that only happen on 2021s?

AFAIK, these seats and the other announced "Individual" options will in fact still be available in the USA this December. I haven't seen any contradictions or changes to the press releases on this. The seats are already on the German and UK configurators. Honestly, since we're now mid-November, I'm surprised we don't have anything yet in the USA, at least updated pricing and ordering guides, but am still hoping.
Yes, nothing strange about new options to be released. Yes, we may see other associated options as well, such as return of restricted interiors, or new colors. The press releases also hinted at more future additions. |

I read on another forum post on here somewhere where they were saying US dealers were saying the press release didn't apply to the US. I just don't know who to believe as I'd hate to order now only to be disappointed in December. Are we talking December 1?

No date set yet. That would be odd, though, if BMW released these X7 seats, (which are versions of other seats already in the US on other models) only on overseas market X7's.

Well I called the BMW Genius line today and they couldn't find anything about it (he didn't even know about it). He said call a dealer and ask, which I have a hard time doing because 9 times out of 10 they don't have a clue what's going on either. I guess just best to wait.
