BMW M4 Limiter Removal

Alright guys, don't get excited or wet over this but I would like to add some insight.

When I picked up my M4 a couple months back I changed my VMAX to 327, I still bounce off of 167 169 because I was accelerating so fast. Anyway, it's been a while since I have been looking into the details and I am over my 10 hours, a while back I came across a site that I believe has a lot to do with this.

At the very bottom of the page you will see the 6 lines, number one being Alpina I believe, correct me if I am wrong and don't kill the messenger I am as eager to figure this out as all of you.

My M4 was coded with TL which is #2 Top Leistungsklasse

http://bmw-obd.de.tl/Steuerger.ae.te...zungen-BMW.htm

So the missing links here are what I am mentioning above, I believe that if the line is also adjusted to say #1 Super Top Leistungsklasse which is what the Alpina B7 is I believe and is limited to 194MPH we might have this solved, keep reading.

I believe this info was in my DME and I could not change it because of the 10 hours but I do have 327 coded. Another thing, I have to look at again is coding in the ICM which I believe is electronically limiting the spark, all of these are tied together.

Feed back if you think you were onto the same thing, I am actually gonna grab my laptop to get the facts so anyone taking delivery in the north east feel free to PM me.

So you're saying even with VMAX coded to 327 you're still being limited by another value? Well shit. I brought my laptop and a cable on my ED and set VMAX to 327 thinking that's all it took. I never tested though due to following break-in procedures. Hopefully I'm not over 10 hours by PCD and can adjust whatever else needs to be set.

Edit: Also, I did not have a DME listed under ESET...just DME2 which did have VMAX. Anyone else have this issue?

Has any1 actually asked his BMW dealer if they could remove the speed limiter? I mean in Europe capping the bimmers to 250 km/h is not for legal reasons but more like a gentlemans agreement. So instead of having us fooling around with coding did anybody actually just asked the dealer to drop the governor?

Are there any updates on the topic? I am going to pick up my car next Friday and want to know whether the speed limiter can be disabled.

Stupid gentleman's agreement. It would have been nice if there was an option to have it factory removed at an extra cost. Picking my car up tomorrow the 21st November @ 10 AM.

Has there been a solution to this or not? Anyone know if you get access at a dealer thru BMW ISSIS program station, if you can remove governor thru a conversion coding??

Also wondering if there is a difference in governor setting between DCT and 6spd manual?

No I guess there is nothing to be done via Coding.

In Europe you can buy the drivers package - this lifts the game up to 280 km/h
It is part of the VO of the car - but i can be ordered afterwards too - so I guess BMW can open secured section of the DME and change it - but not with coding...

sorry...

Hello all,

Has anyone at this point tried the VMax=327 AND the Super Top Leistungsklasse (SL) value while under 10 hours?

I hope I will not be the first, although I have time as I am planning to order for a 09/2016 ED F82 MY2017.

FYI , if you know someone that works at a dealer and they are willing to increase top speed (thru conversion on ISSS Next) , it can be done.

Only issue is not sure if they are willing to do this and risk jeopardizing their job as it is illegal to do this package for US customers. Although it does not say what it increases top speed to.

Won't do any good if DME is locked.

Does anyone know the FA/VO code for the M Driver's Package? I'm searching around and can't find anything. I wonder if the "Code FDL" button after VO Coding in the option could make a difference...

I had my F85 speed limiter raised. The process required a password/code from BMW.

We didn't have it, but proceeded to code anyway. The report said success, but a run pegged at 164 mph indicated. So nope, didn't work.

We're going to try and get the code from BMW and see if they'll give it to us and I'll try again.

The ispa method requires an FSC code. Doubt it will be given here. I have had decent success with other methods.
