Tire Rack (Not the website. Lol)

Anyone purchase a tire rack yet to store their seasonal tires? Been doing some research but didn’t know if the 22s will fit on them. Thanks!

I pay the dealer for the tire hotel, do not want to break my back with those monster tires

How much is that? And do they allow you to swap your tires more than once a season with the price you pay for that service?

You can do it in two ways,
1. Discount tire will charge $100 per season and if you buy tires from them they will swap for free
2. Dealer charges I think $160 per season and they swap I think for $60. I guess this depends on dealer as Audi is also $100 per season.

I do not remove tires I bought winter set with 21" wheel and 285 tire while for summer I have 22" and staggered 275/315, for winters you want to go down by 1-2 inch in wheel diameter to have more space in tire and you want to reduce the width as well.

What's the thinking on this?

Ive got a great one I love. Haven't tried yet, but 99% certain it can store 8 of the rear 22s (4 on each level).

Coincidentally FROM tire rack...

Thanks for the heads up. Please do provide feedback when you put it on there. I’m trying to figure out either wall mount or the one you just suggested.

I bought the trolley style product below. Fits my 22s for the X7 perfectly.

I’ve been using for 4 years with 22” and 21” SUV rims/tires. The rears on the x7 are 12.4” wide and each level can accommodate about 52” so should be ok. I won’t have them on the rack for 7 weeks to give you definitive answer, unfortunately

You guys must not mind giving up garage floor space, it is a premium in my garage right now . I have my track tires stored in a rack mounted on the wall of my garage to save floor space. But having rotated the tires on my current SUV, I can see how lifting up larger 21/22" tires would a serious PITA, or more specifically, a Pain In The Back.....

Thanks for your input. Garage space is a premium. I wanted to ask, if you don’t mind, which rack did you get to store the 21s. I have already purchase the 21 inch winter tires (285/45/21) and wanted to mount it on the wall but didn’t know which rack to get that will actually fit.

Well, I don't own an X7 (yet ), and to be honest, when the time comes I will opt for the 21" all seasons since I don't want to deal with a second set of winter tires for a SUV - even if the garage space was not an issue. I was merely providing some insight based on my experience with my own tire rack.

The tire rack I have mounted on my wall is for my track tires that I use on another car. Those wheel/tires are 275/35-18, and fit fine on my tire rack. They are also approx 40 lbs each. However, I know that 21" wheel/tires for the X7 are a much larger diameter and weigh more (at least 60-70 lbs each if I had to guess). I know the tire rack that I have will not work for SUV tires (too small), but I am sure there are designs that will - but I don't know of a brand off hand that will.

Edit: Below are a few pics of my current tire rack setup (please excuse the mess ). As you can see, the rack I am using would not be a good candidate for larger SUV wheels/tires (too small), but it gives you an idea of a possible setup in a tight garage...

totally valid. i keep this rack indoors in my boiler room. pretty constant temp and humidity in there so figured would be better for me than subjecting the tires to a wide spectrum of temp and humidity in my garage.
