22" Staggered Tires - What the F

I’ve seen lots of discussion on people looking for solutions to get an all-season tire for these 22” staggered setups.

Has anyone had any luck?!

The best I can find are stupid summer tires that get a 10k tread life.

I live in Florida and don’t need winter tires, but my god.. we shouldn’t have to pay $2000 every year for tires.

Pirelli Scorpions have treated me well. I use them for winters here in Chicago and they have outlasted 2 sets of P-Zero’s and still have 7/32nds left.

I need all-season. I don’t see an all-season Scorpion tire.

Continental DWS06+

Search front and rear sizes independently.

Only downside is they aren't runflat. But they should last a ton longer.

running these now, pretty happy with them
they have a 50K treadlife (warranty is 1/2 when staggered, so it should be good for at least 25K miles)

as phasers said, you need to search on tire rack for them seperately- they will not show up as a matched set as the speed ratings are different (W and Y). not an issue as the max limiter for an X7 is 155 and both exceed it.

you will need a spare as they are not runflats.

If I buy the new Michelin Pilots at Costco, they are normally 20k but degraded to 10k due to staggered setup.
yeah, 50K, but dropped to 25K due to the staggered

You’re amazing man. Thanks.

Who installed them for you? Will they question the specs on the tire and give me a hard time during install?

i had a tire rack mobile installer do it. they shouldn't give you any issues, the load ratings on the dws06+ exceed stock for one of the sizes and match for the other. and the speed ratings are in excess of the top speed of the car W is 168mph.
i have heard chains giving grief about non runflats if you dont have a spare. but the usual issue is a load rating mismatch.

Hi All,

I am new to posting on this forum, but I have been following along since the beginning of the stop sale in early August. I ordered an X7 which has been sitting at my dealership since August 8th.
I ordered the 23in wheels but I made a bit of an error by not looking into what the replacement tire situation looks like. When I get the car, I would like to get a set of all seasoned tires, but they seem difficult to find.
Has anybody been able to find all season tires for the 23 inch wheels? I would rather not have to get another set wheels for winter tires if possible.

Ordered! $1,500 and includes installation at my local Discount Tire shop.

Awesome deal!

Now I just need to buy a spare tire. The $500 savings and extra tread life will certainly to justify the cost of the spare tire.

Runflats are a joke

I would look to order the oem spare at a local dealer. Even at full retail, its cheaper than the modern spare alrernative and doesnt need a spacer. Let me dig up the p/n

edit: see this thread:
https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1734983
latest p/n is 36115A3E078
list price is 404, which many dealers discount. for mail order, shipping is the killer

Plus 3 on these. I have a set on my wife's and will throw them on mine when the OEMs need to get switched out.

Or buy a matching wheel off eBay and mount a tire on that. I've done that for all of our vehicles that don't include a spare. I then store the "extras" in our garage. I've had to use my "extra" twice just this calendar year on two of our vehicles.

Just went with non run flats in my M850 and tossed a modern spare in the trunk. Still saved $ doing this way vs running run craps . Run flats are a joke, I barely made it to the next exit and the inside of the pirellis ripped apart. Looking at an X7 and will do the same

We had an issue with the run flat just this summer. The multiple texts/calls from my wife during her 10 min drive home told me 2 things:

- Run flats are only good for those who trust them
- My wife's opinion > the science of how a run flat works

And I'll state this....she's smart (PhD) and genuinely unemotional about things. Clearly she had an issue with a flat tire in a prior life.

I downsized to 20" squared up. Any tire I would ever consider is available in 20". All it costs me are monthly testosterone level checkups at my doc's office. Well worth 60K mile tread life at $1200/set. (Testosterone is holding steady as of last month.)

Follow up—

Got the new Continental ExtremeContact put on. They already feel better and are a little more quiet.

I’m looking forward to having longer tread life with these all-seasons.

Thanks again to everyone for their input!
