Interior and Exterior Features
  • Standard three-panel electronically controlled panoramic glass sunroof
  • Standard electrically controlled sliding headliner shades for the front, center and rear sunroof with the third row passengers having their own controls for the rear sliding shade
  • Standard three rows of seats (offering space for seven people), with full size seats in third row
  • Optional captain's chairs for second row seats (reduces seating capacity to 6 people)
  • Second row seats allow for 5.7 in of fore-aft sliding via electronic controls
  • Backrests second and third row seats can be folded down and raised electrically via switches
  • Second row seats can tilt forward fully for third-row ingress/egress
  • Two-section split tailgate


Transmission
  • 8 speed steptronic transmission
  • Transmission work with the navigation system to see road ahead and combines this data with information from the Active Cruise Control system's (optional on the X7 xDrive40i) radar sensor, allowing transmission to anticipate road ahead and shift proactively
  • Works with Auto Start Stop function to prevent inefficient engine shutdown
  • Works with coasting function for optimal powertrain disconnection


xDrive AWD
  • Full power is directed completely to the rear wheels when required
  • Optional electronically controlled rear M Sport differential (available for the X7 xDrive50i in Dynamic Handling Package and Off-Road Package


Air Suspension
  • Standard Dynamic Damper Control system with two-axle air suspension
  • Automatic self-levelling
  • Air supply controlled individually for each wheel
  • Works with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system
  • In SPORT mode or if the vehicle’s speed exceeds 85 mph, its ride height is automatically lowered by 0.8 inches
  • Manual control over vehicle height by pushing a button in the cockpit
  • Vehicle can be raised in two stages up to a maximum of 1.6 inches above the standard setting
  • Button in luggage compartment activates loading mode that lowers the vehicle by 1.6 inches
  • Vehicle ride height can be set with engine off using optional BMW Display Key


Dynamic Handling Package
  • Available for both the X7 xDrive40i and X7 xDrive50i
  • Active Comfort Drive with road preview
  • Integral Active Steering (with rear wheel steering)
  • M Sport Brakes and on the xDrive50i
  • M Sport rear Differential

  • Rear-seat Entertainment Professional system adds a pair of 10.2-inch full-HD touchscreen displays, a Blu-ray-compatible DVD player and an HDMI socket and two headphone jacks
    • Rear passengers can use both their own media sources and those available in the front compartment. A navigation map and BMW ConnectedDrive services can also be accessed in the rear seats

Looks outstanding and if it is a true 7 seater, in which adults can sit in the back, coupled with captains chairs it should be a winner.

Bmw needed this for about 10 years now.

Looks nice but interior accommodations, especially third row, very disappointing to me.

Second Row: 1" less legroom than GLS, head and shoulder room identical

Third Row: 1.7" less legroom than GLS, 2.3" less head room, and 2.5" less shoulder room.

thank you for that. but it's a step back from current generation GLS which disappoints me, as I need as much space as possible back there

somewhat mitigated by fact second row is adjustable....
