So do additional dealer markups on cars, but that's never stopped dealers before. Everything is its own profit center. The F&I department will extract max value out of folks that don't know how to play the game well.

Not exactly, it varies 5.5-6.5%, depends on the model, the MSRP, etc.

I mean, before, even with the 1 point mark up it was still competitive, so for dealers that did that, they could get away with it, probably a little bit harder now.

BMW has already had rates well below prime for quite sometime, they are subventing rates already, most volume gas models, and all EV’s were already significantly below the usual going rates for new cars from banks.

Maybe, maybe, maybe that means next month we may see a small improvement on car’s that don’t get special rates, like the X5 Hybrid, M2, M3, etc, but if you are purchasing an EV or a “volume” gas model like the X3 30i/X5 40i/330i/etc do not expect anything to change because rates changed.

In the context of this situation, the X7 was already at 3.99, below what a normal bank will offer on a new car right now, so I wouldn't expect any major changes besides the usual possible holiday offerings, but as far as BMW is concerned, on volume models, rates are pretty good right now given what they're paying for the money.

I tell this to people all the time, but they somehow think things are going to get "better," especially on the iX. I know of dealerships with no iXs, and you can't get much better than an almost free MF.

Hi-in Northeast, what’s a good deal for a 2024 demo 40i with executive package with 9k miles? Dealer said if we could find the same car for less they would consider an offer. We would also be interested in purchasing an extended warranty. Should we do it during the transaction or purchase separately?

Open to contracting with a broker to handle this process!

We are new to BMW, or hope to be new owners soon. Thanks for all your advice in advance.

For demos, I want 15% off MSRP but I'm fussy. My last demo vehicle I got 19% off and it had less miles.

Where are you looking to be monthly? With 9,000 miles, you're going to lose about 4.3% in residual, depending on the MSRP. X7 loaners are not easy to find, and they don't have the write-downs they used to have, so they're not discounted crazy amounts anymore. Even if you get 14% off a loaner, it's not worth it when we're doing 9% on new ones. I can definitely help you, though!

Thank you for your response! The dealership said the MSRP is 91k and are offering the vehicle at 79k. I have seen several others with various packages anywhere between 72k and 76k so I am not sure if the price is good or we should keep looking. I think the most we want to spend at this point is 75- 80k (purchase price, not out the door), I don’t think a new one will work if we stay firm to this budget.

Is the 3k cash being offered only for 2025s? Or is this just loyalty cash for 2024s?

For a purchase, there is $1,500 finance cash and $500 for corporate (since you don't have loyalty). The $3,000 total is only on M60i variants - $2,500 finance plus the other $500.

The starting price is just under $85,000 for the xDr40i, so you could get something around $91,000 and be at $80,000 after rebates, before tax. It's just something to consider vs. getting a loaner, obviously.

I can help with this as long as you're willing to ship!

I have a lot of X7s at a good discount - 9% with no markup on MF or APR.

Is that 9% + 2500 + 500 or 9% all in?

It's 9% plus incentives, but the incentive on the 40i% is only $1,500 + $500.

On an M60i, I can do 7-7.5% plus $2,500 + $500, depending on the car, its age, or if it's an order.

Absolutely! You will have to ship from the east coast, but the discount makes it worth it.

Terms improved greatly this month, including the APR being down to only 1.99%. I have plenty of X7s to sell at a good discount!

That’s a great deal! I was only able to get 7% + 2k finance credit and loyalty at 3.99 on a custom order, but I did get over KBB value for my trade so I guess it evens out.
