Securing my XB7 today. Perfect timing as my wife and I are expecting our second little one in September.
Once you get used to Alpina as a DD, it's hard to drive anything else. Perfect combination of performance and class. GLS63 much more common; can't wait to see how the Alpina experience translates into SUV.

Adding the Alpina treatment to arguably the best vehicle in its class is just the cherry on top.
There's something to be said when the smallest of details can make such a big statement. |

Agree. Pretty bland interior, not much different. Not worth the $36k upgrade over a loaded M50i

Going from X7 M50i to Alpina XB7 is similar to someone debating whether or not to go M550i or M5 - you are choosing which side of the BMW spectrum you want to be on. |

Meh.....Alpinas don't do it for me anymore on most BMW models.
They don't look as good as the M models and aren't as fast.

This must have been a difficult one for Alpina aesthetic wise as the X7 is not the best looking SUV and their work has not made it look much better at all in my eyes. Still 180mph, and that's LIMITED, is crazy in something as big and heavy.

Everyone is going to have their own opinion but I think the rear treatment of the XB7 is much nicer looking than the standard X7. The twin tail pipes and the lower apron is much improved. The new stainless steel exhaust system should not be overlooked as well as the improvements to the suspension and brakes. The front bumper with the Alpina logo at the bottom looks great. Overall the Alpina XB7 is a very nice looking option if you can afford it.

Nice, but I'm not overwhelmed by the styling. For the price, I would expect more luxuries beyond the X7 M50i. If I had the money, I'd consider it.
I too wish it was based on the sport model, and not the luxury model with all the extra chrome. My guess is, BMW is going to gauge interest on the XB7, to determine the future of the X8. Here's the webpage with details on the new XB7: https://xb7.alpina.de/en/ Now, it has links to the configurator, but when I go to it, there's no configurator for the XB7, only the other Alpina models: https://www.alpina-configurator.com/ |

Looks like to get a XB7 the way you really want it the premium will be $25,000 to $30,000 more than a loaded M50i.
The Alpina web site does have the XB7 configurator up but you'll need to use a translator (Chrome) since it's in German: https://www.alpina-configurator.com/...fg8bTY2ysdNpaS |

BMW Canada posted a video showing the car yesterday with some details. Its not that great of a presentation. They don’t even show the rear styling of the XB7.It would have also been nice of them to start it up so we could hear the new Alpina exhaust.

So far all the marketing photos and videos show it only in Alpina Blue so BMW and Alpina must obviously believe that color showcases it most effectively. I personally feel it looks really good in Alpina Blue but hopefully we'll see it in Alpina Green and a few other colors before it goes into full production.

And, it's available in Alpina Green also. Win/win.
The only question now is.. which bank can I rob easily to place my order.

Alpina is a totally different philosophy from M cars. You either get it or don't.
