I had a 2020 m50i - it sounded pretty good. I now have a 23 XB7 - it does not. It is much quieter and anything other than heavy acceleration it is too quiet in my opinion. I have been considering the same changes

Any idea of the 2023 XB7 has a new exhaust vs the 2022? I've heard both the 2022 M50i and 2022 XB7, and it was pretty close.

Apologies if off topic but do you do exhausts for G80 as well? Where in NC are you? Thank you.

I have been looking as well. Just picked up a 2023 M60i.

I found that GThaus meisterschaft has an exhaust option and has a entire mid section option as well.

They aren’t cheap but I run one on my 1M and it’s my favorite exhaust I’ve ever run. The quality of the welds and bends are fantastic.

I saw this as well. Sent them a DM and asked for videos and they said they would post soon. Hopefully it sounds good. I can tell the potential is there with this new engine

Not many options out there.

I have the exact same (Brooklyn Grey) 2023 and was looking to upgrade the exhaust as well. There aren't many options. That being said, I traded my 2022 M50 in for this unit and wish I hadn't. Nonstop electrical issues. It was a mistake not upgrading to the Alpina, however, when I ordered the car they told me the Alpina would not be available for delivery before the end of the calendar year...that proved false.

Can I ask what electrical issues you seem to be experiencing? We have had our x7 since September and put a little over 8,000 miles on it and have experienced no issues but I seem to see a lot of owners complaining about problems on here.

Look at GT Haus. They have a great system that fits.

New to forum, looking to see if anyone did anything to improve the exhaust sound on the X7 M60i?

Yes same here the stock exhaust sound for this type of motor is very poor zero exhaust roar. The resonator is really small so doubt much sound diff with x pipe is only 12 inches and pipes are almost 3 inch already. Had it all measured up already. The muffler is a suitcase and one of the bigger sound deadners from how it looks. I got a sound clip of the meisterchaft on the M60 and it was underwhelming considering the muffler only was 4K

Yes very underwhelming. I’ve been doing a lot of searching but no luck as of yet.
I would think an ECU tune would help but also haven’t found anything off the shelf.

The F85 exhaust tips (straight pipes) opened up in Sport+ mode, and if you disconnected each flap servo, the exhaust flaps would stay open all the time, and it could be heard a block away - a very pleasing throaty sound.

My '24 XB7's exhaust is absolutely too soft and muted, but I cannot figure out how to open the flaps since the XB7 does not have a "sport+" mode, but maybe it's because it's still in the "break-in" period (<300miles?).

Once I get past the break-in mileage and can release those 630 glorious ponies, I might like the exhaust sound (with the windows down). If I don't, I may have to consider what was done on the E9x M3 exhausts, that is to replace the pipe with holes along the tube inside the muffler, with pipes w/o holes.

We will see.....

XB7 Exhaust/Engine Performance

@M-Bimmer, I have the 24 XB7 and had the same impression initially, low sound and power at under 1k miles. Give it time, after the Alpina break in period of 1,800 miles (see your Alpina owners manual for specifics) the engine/exhaust opens up nicely. Use of Sport transmission and sport, sport plus suspension settings after run in has the most effect and is drastically different than the comfort modes. Night and day difference in performance and sound of exhaust. Enjoy!

I will wait....but my '18 B7 at 55K miles is still waiting for the exhaust to "open-up"....probably not going to happen tho.

Turning 50 it's time I go for something more comfortable than the G63 and the XB7 is the best option out there in my mind for what I need.
I did not like the ride on the GLS 580 and couldn't find a GLS63 to test drive, I found the ride harsh on Michigan roads in the GLS580 and am pretty sure the GLS63 would only be harsher.
You coming from g 63 amg to xb7? And you didn't look at gls 63 amg? New body for 2024? That's hard to believe. Gls63 amg is more comfortable then xb7 or any x7 m60i .

No such observations in the 5 months. I have pushed in those Amazon ones and it looks clean and amazing. It can be simply discarded after discolorations, but sofar its holding good.
No intention of modifying the OEM exhaust equipment.

After a long wait to get my wife’s 24 m60i x6, I am totally disappointed in the exhaust note. Compared to the 20 m50i x6, it’s much more subdued. No shifter, most buttons gone, stick on screen….looks like I’ll be keeping my daily x7 m50i. I love the way it sounds especially cold starts. They are slowing training us for the electric revolution.
