Woot! Hello again folks,

With the recent-ish really (REALLY) positive experience with my wife's X3, I decided to get myself an X7. Managed to snag a spot in the order queue, and the following is due some time in November:

X7 M60i
Dravit Grey w/ Tartufo Interior and Fineline Black Wood Trim
22" M Dual-Spoke Bicolor 913M Wheels
Climate Comfort Package
Driving Assistance Professional Package
Executive Package
M Sport Professional Package w/ Black Calipers
Leather Dashboard
Second-Row Captain's Chairs
Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System

I'm excited to ride this big boy! Cheers.

Trailer hitch nets you biggest brakes and transmission cooler. Great for resale as well.

I want everyone to order with the trailer hitch. It should be standard so when I pick one up used it has it already!

Just to add to the tow option:
The trailer hitch package is a no brainer for the X7. I have it only for the remote use of a bike rack or emergency tow/snatch point. That box hitch and all the accessories you can use for it really adds significantly more versatility you didn’t even know you need. Just get it. On a 4x4 as big and heavy as the X7, there isn’t any real good locations to use as a tow or pull point without causing body damage. The extra cooling radiator is also practically free for the option cost and makes the X7 more robust on general.
This is a SUV and without a hitch seriously hinders its capabilities and makes it a tall luxury 7 series sedan.

OP: you are going to love the B&W audio.

Keep in mind that you lose the kick-to-open functionality for the tailgate if you get the tow package, so choose whichever feature you expect to use more.
I think the only nobrain-er part about the trailer hitch is BMW's brainless design that forces you to choose between the tow hitch and the tailgate feature. In Mercedes and Audi you can have both.

That looks sexy as hell with the boat attached. I trailer mine with my Power Wagon but might just have to hitch up to the X7 for some pics.

I agree 100% I don't ever toe, but wanted this option just in case. But my wife loved the foot kick open on our X3 and used it often. So we ditched the hitch to keep the kick to open tail gait. Then I found out tow pack gives bigger brakes and transmission cooler, FML. Is that last part true for m60i as well? My m60i brakes are pretty damn big, and I have no idea about the transmission cooler...

Same here. I don’t ever expect to tow but, with hauling around 2 kids and groceries, I've already used the foot kick a few times. Ideally, I would have liked to include the tow hitch as well, if just for the additional hardware better and resale value. Too bad for BMW, as they could have had more of my money.

Is this true? My Dealer (one of the largest BMW/Alpina Dealerships in the US) indicated that my order, an Alpina XB7 would NOT include a different/larger transmission cooler or brakes. So, does it vary by model within the X7 lineup? Or does the engine size/displacement affect the differences?

I did try to search on Google, to no avail.

I would appreciate it if you could clarify for me or send me the link, as I'd like to make sure to order my vehicle accordingly. Thank you for your assistance in this regard.

The Alpina comes standard with the largest available brakes and the trans cooler. I can confirm this as an XB7 owner myself.

so 3AC on the pre lci added an additional cooler- engine oil to the drivers side wheel arch. all cars have a transmission fluid cooler thats the width of the radiator under the water radiator.
It doesnt look like the LCI adds thes air to oil cooler anymore. the aux cooler in the passenger side wheel well is a water radiator (as it was on the prelci)

as for brakes, the M50i/M60i has the largest brakes, 3AC or not.
395/398mm
the 40i with msport brakes has the second largest- 395/370mm
3AC bumps the stock brakes from 348/345mm to 374/370mm

Kind of bummed that the production site doesn't show my wheels or shadowline, but regardless, we're in the queue!
