Not sure where you came up with this conclusion. I don’t think anyone is arguing that both X7 and RR are both luxurious. Majority on this forum are not F you money, likely some but not majority. Going back to the topic of this thread, there is a huge difference in MONTHLY cost associated with X7 vs Range Rover if your planning to lease. In our case, I was looking at over 1300/mo in cost difference due to how well the X7 leases. That’s not something I’m willing to disregard. Maybe you have F you money, I have other responsibilities which still guide my decisions.

Also, if anything based on my quick look the X7s were on dealer lots longer and there are 27 X7 and 33 Range Rovers available within 50 miles. I personally would take a fully loaded X7 M50i over a Range Rover. But plenty of people I know would take the Range Rover. I agree with Matt in the review, the Range Rover feel special to him, he wants it, but he has to be objective and the X7 is better! Luxury is about how something makes you feel…IMHO. Not arguing since to each his own. I tried very hard to discourage my wife from buying her iX 50i. But in the end it has worked out well for her. I am sure some people hate it and she gets asked all the time why she got it over a Tesla. But that is OK. It is human to like what we own…as long as you enjoy what you have, it’s all good 😊 |

I'd take a pre lci x7 over either of these..
but yeah x7 over Range rover every single time..not a fan of box on wheels design. Also like cars that are long lasting and easy to own post warranty period and not just produced with just about enough quality and reliability to get through the first few warrantied years of life. |

According to Car and Driver, X7 is quieter than every other SUV (Inlcuding the real ‘RR’ - Rolls Royce) except for Bentley Bentayga. According to Matt Watson in this review, it’s the same. He says X7 is quieter and more comfortable than Range Rover.

These two brands are still selling the car with market share, which means that they are both luxury brands. The same configuration of Land Rover is more expensive than BMW, which also shows that Land Rover is more luxury than BMW . BMW is more driving brands by cost-effective. So no one can all win, just your choose.
I also believe this forum will be more support BMW since it is BMW forum(: One of the main reasons I choose X7 is that lower buying and maintenance cost. Last edited by littleyang; 03-06-2023 at 06:29 AM.. |

Porsch, a step above - maybe slightly but depending on the model. RR, a step above, I think it’s a step down. Bad build, bad drive, no imagination m, bad reliability, it’s just boring - too many of them around. It’s what you do if you have money but no real idea what to spend it on! |

Majority of people are still sleeping on how good of a car X7 is. Now with LCI out,
Prices for pre-LCI dropping, I started seeing more and more soccer moms driving around schools and grocery markets in their X7s |

Anyway, show me pictures with your RR undercarriage after 3-4 Canadian winters and I will show you the undercarriage of my daily BMW after 12 Canadian winters. Just have a look at a RR when is in front of you. Is usually red under. Bmw anticorosive warranty is 12 years. RR is 6… That tells a lot. Secondly, reliability wise, price wise and bang for the buck they are nowhere near BMW. Not to mention dynamics… So yeah, BMW rules in many aspects over RR. |

C&D noise measurements are just not that accurate. They're usually pretty close, but just because their numbers put the X7 below its competition doesn't mean the X7 is actually quieter. I've personally driven ~10 cars that C&D has noise tested which is why I'm able to say that. Plus if you look at their charts there are some obvious mismeasurements. Like one of their AMG E class reviews having decibel numbers which show it as being a bit quieter than the X7 and A8 and S class. Or their numbers putting the X7 40i and [outgoing gen LCI] 745e on the same noise level, but having the 750 as much more loud, which is just plain wrong (you'd know if you drove the X7 40i and 750 back to back - they're about the same, 7 is perhaps just a bit quieter). Or putting the Honda Ridgeline and 2020 Toyota RAV4 at the same decibel level as these top luxury vehicles (S class / 7 / X7 / A8 / Q8). The C&D numbers are usually pretty close, but when you narrow down to similar vehicles like the X7 and its competition, you can't use the C&D numbers to compare their noise levels. They're not accurate enough. |

Typical prejudice. Of course we can support BMW.
But it will be totally wrong if you say anyone else who pays more and doesn't buy a BMW but RR is an idiot. |

This doesn’t have to be a pissing match at all. Both are players in the same full size top luxury SUV segment. Like choosing two top shelf liquors. One might go down smooth, the other might have you in the bathroom all night. Everyone is different.
