How long for production of special order?

Reason why I'm driving to the dealer tomorrow is that I will be dropping off a wiring-kit that connects my Blackvue dash-cam I bought for the X7 with the vehicle's power lines behind the interior mirror housing.

I bought the DR900S-1CH because I really did not wanto to run a wire from front to back and in addition to that, the drive recorder covers that, too.

As of today, it's still in an unopened box so I do not have any experience yet. The fact that it can be connected to the vehicle's hotspot was important to me.

Once I got everything up and running, I'll let you know.

I believe the back cam needs to be hooked up to the front camera so that the front camera can record both streams at once. Front is basically the 'brain' of the unit.

I don't know many details about the installation because I was never interested in the 2-channel version. But I'm sure there is lots of info on YouTube. Just search for DR900S-2CH (the '2' is the front/year one).

Just returned home. They said installation will take 2 hours @ $140/hr plus tax, so close to $300. They said that the wiring kit wouldn't work and that they would be using their own (stated they already installed a few Blackvues).

Pictures of the car, though, were a no-go today becuase the myBMW-app is not accurate - the vehicle is NOT at the dealership yet but is scheduled to arrive later today.

Mine hasn’t entered production, the dealership said it would be yesterday. I’m not sure how much longer I will wait.

That's awesome. When I wanted or mine in December my dealer said I wouldn't have mine until April so now I held off. Now I don't want to order now because by the time I get it it will be at least April or May and then in three months I can order at 2021. Bummer.

I've ordered mind January 31st and haven't gotten anything yet. I don't even know how the process goes.
All I know it that I'll get an email telling me how to follow it online or something. 🤷🏻*♂️

One of my buddies is a GM for a dealership and was able to get me an allocation quickly. Did not think it be that quick thought.
