I haven't seen any official words. Several news sites report Monday May 4th for BMW to start production again.

This seems likely as several other MFG's have started production or will start this coming Monday the 27th. (MB is restarting on Monday the 27th).

Mine was supposed to have finished in April 1st. But looks like it didn't even start by the time they shut the plant down on the 29th.

Hoping it will get built soon and hope BMW has better incentives in May. The delay has cost me a few thousand $$ already.

Sales Manager updated my proposal on April 3rd and my payment went down 50 bucks versus my initial proposal in February when I placed the order. Hoping May incentives improve that even more!

BMW Genius line says factory opened today, but with only 1 shift and even that shift is at partial capacity. I asked for an updated production date for my car, their system still does not show any updated production schedules.

I called this morning and got the same response. Mine is still listed as a March 31st completion date. The gentleman suggested the systems should be updated by Wednesday.

I tried to contact my SA to see if he could see any updated information in their system. Found out that my SA has been furloughed along with most SA at the dealership. They are only doing online sales and so only 1 SA remains.

My SA says he will try to find out some information for me.

My status went into "Production Begun" on March 19th, with estimated completion of April 1st. Mdecoder site originally showed production date of March 21st. Now mdecoder shows production date of April 18th.

Mine was scheduled to be completed on April 1 also.

Emailed with my CA today. He has 15 clients waiting on customer ordered X5s and X7s. Said he didn’t have any information right now but is hoping to have better clarity by the end of the week.

I just checked mdecoder also. Production date for mine now shows May 2nd.

Why do you think that?

My car was on the production line literally 2 days away from completion.
I don't really care one way or the other as I don't need the car urgently,
and I have no preference for 20 vs. 21.

I mean, i guess it's possible it could get pushed out 4 months as a result of a 1 month plant shutdown, but it seems unlikely.

Sorry, that was quarantine and crisis-induced sarcasm. . No, don't think you'll be 2021, although I think the remaining 2020 models will be more scarce.

FYI for those of you with estimated production end of March/Early April, check your status.
Mine still shows 3rd dot (production begins) on the bmw site, but when I call the genius line, the automated system says my car is in transit to the dealer. (last night it was still Production begins with estimated completion date of April 1st).
I tried to talk to a person on the genius line to get more info, but was placed on hold, had to hang up to attend a meeting, Going to call them back after my work meeting.

Looks like it may have been a bug in their system.

I called back, and now the Automated system is back to stating April 1st is the estimated completion date.
Had me excited for a minute

My completion date was finally updated today from March 31st to May 18th. Dealer called and said it should be delivered by 5/15.

Wait, the build will finish on 5/18 but your dealer will get the car by 5/15 (3 days before it's built?) How does that work?

I called again before the genius line closed, the automated system still says April 1st for my car.

Because apparently the "completion" date coincides with available at dealer. It's already on the assembly line. This same timeline was the case with my X3 M40i. Doesn't really matter to me give or take 3-5 days, but this is what the dealer said.

What does the bmw site and/or bmw genius line say for your current status?

BMWUSA shows "exterior body assembly begins" as of today. Vehicle production status hotline says 5/18 completion date.

My build code was in the "Scheduled for Production" stage for the last week of so. This morning the BMW My Garage tracking system is now stating I have an "Invalid Production Number". Has anyone else had this occur to their current build code today or in the past? Any ideas as to what might be causing this? I have read that the system has experienced a few glitches in the recent past. Thanks in advance for your comments.

I have seen that happen a couple of times. Usually trying again in a day or two will fix it.

You can also call the genius line with the production number, the automated system can give you updates.

My online status is still on the 3rd dot, but Genius automated system now says (as of yesterday) that estimated production completion date is now May 18th (Was May 22nd on Tuesday, then on Wednesday it updated to May 18th).

Just called and checked on mine. It has been showing as "Production Begins" since March 18, and the scheduled completion date had been stuck at April 1 since then. The automated system just gave me a completion date of May 19th. Good news I guess that something is moving, but I'm not really banking on having my car soon until I get some more concrete information.
