You're vehicle is about to be delivered so I believe its too late for much more negotiation.
I believe I'm the exception, not the norm, alot of dealers are still sticking to MSRP less 1-3%.

Well…. I found one on the lot that I liked. We had a little back-and-forth and I started writing a check for ~8% off.

I knew I could get a better deal if I pressed, but I was really just trying to get in and out of there and not waste my saturday. anyways, as I’m (literally) writing the check, they came back and forgot a few things, and forgot what we talked about, etc..etc….

So I had to get up and leave. This is the hardest part about buying a car, sometimes they just can’t figure out how to accept a great deal.

They can't help themselves. It's just a matter of time before SA are gone and we get direct sales ala Tesla.

Just leave then. My local market is one of the most expensive car market in the US, so I don't even bother negotiating with local dealers. You may want to consider buying out of state.

Any one attempt to try and put in a custom build 40i X7 this week through a dealer? I'm being told the earliest possible production week is June 2024 (dealer allocation is for January 2024). There's nothing crazy about the order other then picking Tanzanite Blue for the exterior color. I've seen paint cause delays in the past, but nothing more then a couple of weeks.

Allocations all depend on the dealer. I put an order in last Friday and its in 112 as we speak.

I would ask your dealer to see if they trade for an allocation, or reach out to other dealers and see if they have any allocations.

are they trying to push you to buy something on the lot?
tanzanite blue does not add prod time, my TBII 40i was built ahead of schedule.

i have a feeling they want the sale now vs next year.

bmw gives prod allocations out the month before. January prod allocations (to be built in jan) came out first week of dec. June 2024 allocations will be out in may.
pretty sure they are feeding you a line. bet you they will come back with a sooner date if you tell them that you are going to order a GLS since the X7 will take too long

Well looks like both the CA and I were way off. Unless I’m mistaken, the attached shows the January production request, but the earliest production week shows as “06/02/2024”. At quick glance, it looks like June 2, 2024, but I think this actually means “Week 6”, which is Feb 2024. Does that seem right? Picture attached from CA.

rest of world does dates day-month-year.

i think that message means they dont have any jan production (the dealer probably used up all their slots) and feb prod. allocations wont be out till the first week if jan.

so the message seems to make sense, your earliest production allocation will be for feb production.
