Thought I would make a post about what I have found with my MPE exhaust. The exhaust started to rattle a lot on cold startup and the noise appeared to come from the centre of the car, after alittle investigation I found the exhaust was hanging extremely low and hitting the centre brace on the car. Initially I thought that it was time to replace the Hangers and mounts. However after reading alittle more the issue seems to be with the OEM exhaust clamp connecting the MPE to the downpipe. After a while this clamp allows the exhaust to move which causes the pipe to sit lower and fowl the centre brace.

The FIX:
As the OEM clamp clearly isn’t up to the task the only feasible way to fix the issue is to permently weld in a section to join the two sections of pipe permanently. Southcoast Tuning and Frabrication did this for me for just £75+ Vat which isn’t far from the cost of the OEM clamp. Since they have done this the issue has completely gone! I highly recommend anyone with the MPE to do this as it seems the only way to stop the exhaust developing a rattle.
