Aux audio and USB Bluetooth help

I recently got myself a BMW 3 Series 320i E90 2010 model,
I tried plugging my aux into the middle armrest compartment and play music on my phone but nothing happens. There is no option for me to select "mode" or in CD/multimedia there is no Aux option, is this normal for me or is there something not right?
I also tried using a portable Bluetooth. Plugged it into the AUX and USB slots in the armrest, connected my phone and tried to play music, but nothing seems to work.

What are my options here to get music to play through my phone?

Which Radio or I drive do you have?
Options may be different in Australia from other
country's also the year of the car will effect what
it came with.

My stereo is something like this, but with only one slot of CD, and pardon my lack of knowledge of bmw's but I assume my ISNT an iDrive? I read where you can update the nav system, but I tried putting an USB in to update and it didn't let me have an option to update.

I'm assuming the AUX should be playing? Seeing it has an aux input, but there is no button for me to select mode?

You need to press 'audio' then select aux.

I can't seem to find the audio button anywhere, I don't think I have one?
Music will play in my iPhone but doesn't connect through the stereo

It would be just above the (left) volume knob; about 3cm wide (quite large). But maybe I'm thinking of a different head unit style, so I could be wrong

Whichever way, I think you'll need to find some way to select the aux input for playback before it'll work. If you have idrive (screen above the centre console/stereo/heater controls), then the chances are it'll be in there somewhere.

This is what I have,
See below attached photos

As you can see I don't have the option "AUX" in the CD/multimedia section,
Am I missing something? Or if this is how it's meant to be,
If so, what can I do to get Bluetooth music playing, combox? Wiring?
Let me know ! Much appreciated !!

I am how ever using an AUX cord into the iPhone charger converter like this one below attached. Could that be the problem? Music is playing on the phone but silent

Do you know what the car came with .
Maybe you should talk to the idrive forum.

Well if the usb and the aux come from the combox what does that suggest
to you.

Cheers for the help,
I'm not too sure since I'm not the first owner. And previous owner doesn't know either.

I have a feeling something might be faulty with the wiring or something like that?
Maybe it needs to be re coded?

I'm pretty sure this isn't normal considering most people I've seen all have external devices and aux options

Sorry to hijack your thread, I cant create my own and i'm going insane

bought a car, plugged in the aux, all works fine. then today, 4 days later, all of a sudden i jump in and it's on FM, weird when i was just using the AUX 10 minutes ago with no issues. i try to select AUX with that stupid knob next to the handbrake (in dash video screen thingy) and it will turn right/left but won't let me select it.

it seems like the "select" button (pressing it down) doesnt work for anything now. so maybe 2 issues?

what do i do? please help me it's doing my head in.

Thanks in advance

I'm having this exact same issue on my new (to me) 2010 330i. There doesn't seem to be an AUX option, but I can at least see the AUX volume adjustment in the options - but its locked to zero volume.

Currently no way for me to play music via AUX in my car.

if the aux is combined with usb connector and car built before 2011 MY then this aux is routed to MULF2HIGH module in trunk, which in turn connected to headunit via MOST fiber optic connection
and then if this module is fails, the AUX menu will disappear from headunit because module is not available
