Overhead buttons....what are the 2 buttons next to the reading lights?

They look like a sun with a shade next to it.

Going from left to right...they are buttons 2 and 4 in sequence (middle light is the interior lights and 1/3 are left/right reading lights). The buttons 2 and 4 don't seem to do anything and the manual doesn't mention them?
